It depends on the state. IANAL, but usually alimony is based upon a standard of living at the time of divorce, so if you get a big jump after the fact, she is not entitled to anything more.

Your ex will have to go tot the court where your settlement was accepted and open a new case SUING YOU for more support.

It really depends on your state, the discretion of the presiding judge, and whether or not you have Modifiable or non-Modifiable alimony.

Spousal support depends on the terms of your agreement. It's either modifiable or non-modifiable, temporary or permanent. If it's non-modifiable, temporary support - no, she cannot ask. Well, she can ask but the court will dismiss her petition.

Alternatively, you can avoid the issue entirely by buying her out of spousal support in a lump sum. Big fan of this but you may not have the cash or assets to do this.

Worst case scenario is that you get the adjustment before the divorce concludes because then if you don't tell her and she finds out, she can come back and unravel the agreement with an angry judge, to boot.
