It's on IncelExit https://www.reddit.com/r/IncelExit/comments/uyb2ql/i_dont_like_being_a_man/

The most interesting for me was deep in the comment section.

[–]throwaway2392384 1 point 2 days ago This is the correct question. Most people who describe themselves as introverted are timid, shy, boring or autistic. And this is the worst combination of traits you can possess as a man. Also very hard to change, especially if you are on the spectrum.

[–]MistyMaisel 2 points 2 days ago Very difficult for sure. Not impossible tho. And you don't have to become the class clown. Being friends with him would help tho. Spectrum people should look for autism specific therapy to help them. The field is only getting better.

[–]throwaway2392384 3 points 2 days ago I honestly saw manly "glow ups" when it comes to physical appearance. But I never have seen anyone fundamentally change their personality.

[–]MistyMaisel 2 points 1 day ago It's not exactly about fundamentally changing personality, just learning to present that more successfully. Some of this is physical. But a lot of it is learning social queues, social rhythms, social standards, and how to best use your personality within those.

Some of it can be really obvious like eye contact, smiling, nodding, laughing (depends on the level of autism): or it might be more complicated, how to approach women for example or how to portray social awkwardness charmingly.

[–]throwaway2392384 1 point 1 day ago While learning about and following social conventions is important, I don't think that it really addresses the main issue. Following social rules doesn't make an unfunny person more funny or a boring person more interesting.

[–]MistyMaisel 1 point 1 day ago Perhaps not, but it would teach you that you aren't those things and to focus on and present other character traits positively :)

Conversation ends at this point, but in my experience of improving myself this has been my experience. Changing personality is so extremely difficult to do.

It's one thing for a prison inmate to come out and live his life totally differently.

But becoming a suave, or outgoing/funny/interesting person? I legit could have a mental disability, no way could I even talk to someone in public at the moment.

I ordered Dairy Queen today, got the 10-dollar 6-piece chicken strip basket with the buttered toast and fries. When in the drive thru I thought he said "Would you like anything else with that?", and I replied "No, that will be all".

There was stunned silence, and the guy was really confused, turned out he said " What sauce would you like with that?". 😂.

I swear every interaction I have with others is incredibly awkward, in a way it's a gift, can I change this at 24? It's just who I am.
