Rice University kicked a student out of housing one day after an allegation was made against him. No alternative housing was provided. They kicked him out on the street without even investigating let alone making a finding. Rice admits that it was only because he was male. A female would have been supported, rather than punished if they were accused. Here are the core parts of the sound clip.

Judge:

Is this accurate that [Dean Student Judicial Programs, Donald Ostdiek,] said that if the same allegations had been made against a female, he would want her counseled rather than suspended because its a very troubling time for a female [...]

Student's Attorney:

Your honor, that is a quote from his deposition. I asked him 'would you do the same thing to a female that you did to my client, Mr. Doe, under the same circumstances and the same allegation?' and he said 'no, I would counsel a woman' as you said, because 'these are very troubling times for them.'

Judge:

That's different. That's not the same thing as just in this one instance we treat men and women different based upon how Doe and Roe, that's like, a policy of Rice, that, and he's the head person of that office? [he is]

The way it is looking, any man who was suspended during a Title IX tribunal will likely be able to sue the school for damages, as they would not have been suspended if the genders were flipped. These damages occurred because of the students gender exclusively, and are not based on a finding of guilt. The school is going to be in a lot of trouble now, as any man who was suspended during or after a Title IX tribunal is likely able to sue, and their innocence will probably be irrelevant. I will not be surprised to see a class action against the school for record-setting damages.

EDIT: I think it is this case. Pacer says Judge Jennifer Walker Eldrod handled that case on Aug 3, which is when the tweet was posted. I also don't see any other cases against Rice in the Court of Appeals fifth circuit (CA5).
