Entitlement gets thrown around too liberally. I.e a man asks out his friend, she rejects him. He stops being her friend. She posts on Reddit how she’s sad and offended. Reddit consoles her telling her “he’s a monster! He felt entitled to your body!”

In the above though there is zero to base the assertion he felt entitled to her body but people will still say It.

Its all a distraction anyway. If you look at what the average person acts "entitled" towards its usually:

-Basic human decency

-Good faith interaction

-Conversation on the level of every other relationship most people have

99% of the time what people say is mostly that they don't want to get lied to or ghosted abd wabt someone who puts in reasonably equal effort. But internet weirdos will make up a million excuses as to why thats unreasonable.

It's fine to WANT things. It's absurd to be mad because you can't get laid on command or because you can't get the person you want to date you. It's obviously going to be a disappointment, and you are allowed to have feelings about that, but you are in fact ridiculous if you want something and can't have it and throw a tantrum over it.

You have “god given rights” as a sovereign citizen of the United States if you’re privileged enough to be a citizen.

Though I don’t know what the context you’re talking about entitlement though. If I’m poor and I need food I may feel entitled to take food from people who could go without. Doesn’t make it right though.

I could say hello to a stranger and feel entitled to a response, I could open a door for a stranger and feel entitled to a thank you. Though for these examples I don’t think you should feel entitled for another persons reaction.

The constitution entitles citizens to basic rights intended to protect their life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

The word pursuit was very deliberately included. Because no one else or no thing can make you happy. Not the constitution, not your elected officials, not having a girlfriend, not caSuL sEcs, not a house, a car, a job.

It’s up to YOU to pursue the life that will make you happy. Or to be mature enough to realize that happiness is a state of mind, not a state of acquiring.

Pursuit. People don’t want to pursue anymore. They want things handed to them. They want things made easy for them. They focus on what they think they deserve, usually ignoring what they already have. And why? Because once you get what you want, you don’t want it anymore. And you will immediately start wanting the next thing. This is why they say be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.

Certain “entitlements” are generally ridiculous and I don’t see anything wrong with calling it out.

A fat ugly balding male with lacking social skills feels “entitled” to a pretty obedient virgin woman. He is entitled to whatever preferences he may have but he must accept the consequences of having ridiculous entitlements. He shouldn’t be shocked when he rants on the internet about his entitlements and people make fun of him.

On the flip side, an out of shape promiscuous woman w/ a social media addiction and lacking ambitions feels “entitled” to a hot loyal Chad, must also accept the consequences of her entitled preferences. Likewise, she shouldn’t be shocked when people make fun of her.

Be entitled to whatever you want. But don’t be surprised when others can recognize how ridiculous your entitlements are.

Sometimes severe protests or revolutions is how political systems work. Political systems, not interpersonal romantic/sexual relationships. Personal things are different from the political- for starters there is the use of physical force, and there is also the league of numbers.

Diseases and childcare for the next generation are issues of public health/success. These things have political relevance in that sense. However, when it comes to a celibacy or some non-threatening lie, those are not widely really considered a public issue that demands justice in my opinion. Force is to be used sparingly- only when living beings are in deep existential danger. Force is ideally meant to be used in the gentlest way possible, directed at the appropriate target.

Humans have survived for a lot of years. Many countries especially in Europe are doing better than ever before when it comes to quality of life, but also so much of the world lags behind even in this age of information. I refuse to believe there's not a way to keep doing better- especially for the US. If there is a group intent on pulling us so far backwards as to overturn Roe v Wade, I think there will come a point when a less palatable form of revolt becomes necessary. Now with that said, stealing from some billionaires and destroying one of their 10 summer homes hardly seems like comparably bad violence to some of the other things being overlooked in our world. I don't even know if I would consider it some of the greatest violence in our society at all. It would be less than palatable for many people, though.

I don't think people usually call others "entitled" in bad faith, as they genuinely believe that the other person is asking too much. So I disagree that it's only a distraction.

However I do think that, particularly surrounding dating, there's frequently a lack of thought or analysis when using that term. Dating is surely fine, because it works fine from the perspective of the person making this accusation, and where it doesn't, it's surely men creating all the problems.

The problem of course is that we're frequently blind to our own biases, and while blue pillers will readily call out men's preferences as problematic, they will utterly refuse to even consider women's dating preferences as potentially unreasonable. The end result is the ridiculous finger pointing from blue pillers we see today, but they only got to that point by assuming everything was a-ok for men already and refusing to analyse or listen to anything or anyone suggesting otherwise. This is why they're called the blue pill. With that being said, I also think there are a large number of posters here who deliberately argue in bad faith, so there are certainly bad actors saying these sorts of things as well.
