Women were historically offered seats on trains because they were infantilized—which is also (part of) the reason they didn’t vote or have jobs.

I would to hear why women deserve that. Men are usually taller than women, so the strain on the body is worse on men. If anything, women should give up their seat to men. Maybe we could lessen backpain for men massively.

I understand offering your seat to an older, injured or disabled person (or any viable reason) on a bus, it's normal and seats aren't assigned or paid for. I know it may sound rude, but if you can't stand the whole way you should buy yourself a seat and not complain when no one offers you theirs.

Firstly lady, if you aren't pregnant, elderly, disabled or injured, and therefore unable to stand, why should he offer his seat to you? I thought women are supposed to be strong and independent so why do you need a man to give up his seat to you? Why are you incapable of standing, as you are expecting HIM to do? Why on earth would you being female entitle you to his seat?

Secondly he might have an invisible disability or health condition. So it's ok for you to make assumptions about him, based on nothing, but not for him to make assumptions about you?

Thirdly, when you travel on public transport, you are not guaranteed a seat. If you want to sit, use your smart independent brain and reserve one next time.
