I can definitely understand the feeling of hopelessness that can come and visit and stay too long. You’ve got a look at it like this, at least this is what gets me through sometimes. There’s always going to be somebody disapproving of something I enjoy or something that I like that makes me who I am. you’ve got to learn to shut out those voices and surround yourself with people who love and respect you for you. Life is pretty uncomfortable and unbearable when we don’t have our support system. I started paying very little attention to the media and what was happening and I’m much happier. How dare somebody make me feel inferior for who I am, how dare somebody make me feel like I can’t live my life for who I am. And how dare me for listening to them! Stay strong.

I have felt the same.

I would have always described myself as a 'nice' person - harmless. I often thought of myself as little bit superior because I never had "anger" problems like so many other people. But the truth was I'd become so passive and submissive that I just wasn't standing for anything to be angry about. I had no boundaries so I never stopped anyone from crossing them!

It eventually got so bad [in a situation where it became clear I needed to ask someone to leave my house] that I was about to call an ambulance because I didn't trust myself to not attempt suicide - it felt that hard I just couldn't deal with it. However my (adult)son and (adult)daughter texted me to go for coffee right at that moment, so I did - we discussed some of the issues at hand.

The next day I stood up to the people I needed to stand up to and braced myself for the vitriol that followed. Things are better now. I keep the event close in memory because its a chilling reminder of what happen if I don't police my personal boundaries.

I see the same women who treat us like crap drool over tv shows like "Peaky Blinders" and "Vikings". I'm not advocating the behaviour that is portrayed in those characters but it shows how broken and unsustainable the current war on masculinity is.

It can be really hard, but stick around. The world needs strong men. Not arrogant arseholes, not the dopey idiots on the beer and gambling commercials, not out-of-control men; but strong, disciplined men.

There’s always going to be hatred and discrimination in one form or another; that’s not to say you aren’t dealing with an unfair or overwhelming amount of it, just trying to put things in perspective. Things will never be perfect and ultimately you have two options: a) you can dwell on the system, the injustice of it all and the masses that a few vitriolic and loud people can stir up or b) you can focus on yourself, find things you’re passionate about and pursue them, improve yourself while ignoring the noise. A) leads to a lifetime of depression and disappointment. I’ve been on this road myself longer than I care to admit and it’s easy to fall back into when things get tough. B) leads to success and happiness in whatever you choose to pursue. Once you’re established on this path, you’ll realize that the hatred doesn’t control you anymore and that you’re actually enjoying things in life again.

The transition between these two options can truly suck, I’m not going to lie; it takes a lot of effort on a near constant basis to adjust your thinking in this way. Just work on it as often as you can and really key into the small victories. Incremental improvement will get you anywhere you want to go, given enough time.

Just keep at it brother, one step at a time. You’ve got this, and we’ve got you.

I've had a near death experience once (caused by an accident). It wasn't too long or intense but it has shown me that premature death (by whatever cause) is not a solution, it does not provide the 'end to suffering' you seek.

There is only one way out of it and that is 'through' it. You can run from your fears, but they will always catch up with you. Yet fear can be overcome. The best way to walk that path of overcoming, is walking on two legs:

The first leg is called 'taking care of business': Get and keep your affairs in order. Start however small you can manage. Whether that's brushing your teeth before going to bed (rather than falling asleep over your phone/laptop) or cleaning up the kitchen or something similar.

I know what you might think right now: How are these things supposed to help? It's easy. They teach you through experience that you can influence your world and by forming a habit of doing these small things regularly, you will build up your confidence.

The second leg is called 'facing the fear': It is a (if not the) well established fact scientificly that fear is overcome by exposing oneself voluntarily to the object of fear.

In your case that might mean to abstain from internet and media sources as much as possible and then only consume small doses (like 5 mins), ideally before doing a 'first leg' exercise of fixing something in real life.

Over time, as your 'first leg' grows stronger through regular exercise, you can start to increase the training of your 'second leg'.

Another good counter balance might be to actively try to look out for positive changes in this regard:

For example Florida has signed into law an bill that focuses state efforts to help fathers be engaged in their kids lifes.

For example the 'All Party Working Group' of the British parliament has worked out a strategy for male mental health that actively and explicitly walks away from feminist 'toxic masculinity' bullshit and promotes pro-male policies developed by non-feminist and anti-feminist psychologists and practioners.

For example Men's Issues start getting more serious attention in political discourse through a new book by Richard Reeves called 'Of Boys and Men' which gets discussed and indeed praised from both sides of the political spectrum.

Note: non of these meassures are perfect or 'be all and end all' solutions. Yet they are decisive turning points against and that can give you hope that things are changing for the better.

It takes time to fix society, watching paint dry is a thriller in comparison. But I'm rather positive that in 10 and 20 years, we'll be in a better place.

Would be great to have you around then to look back with a nod at challenges we have overcome, individually and collectively.

I totally empathize but what I’ve learned lately is the internet and media have this narrative. Everyone I meet in person is fine. So if I’m feeling upset about being a man in 2022 I delete TikTok and Reddit for a few days. Focus on myself and go out for a hike, get in nature. Those shoe hate men weirdly want to be heard and want people to know because they’re megalomaniacs. Obsessed with their own opinions. Bud in the end they lose because they isolate themselves from society. Best to step away for a bit, and give them the silent treatment.

I think this is known as being "disagreeable". Do that until you find an even better purpose. Agreeableness is appropriate when it's reciprocated and not nearly as appropriate when someone is actively attempting to harm you, your wellbeing, your calm or your joy.

No one person, or even one whole demographic group, gets to decide your value or purpose in this world. Your pulse is all that is necessary to expect basic human respect and dignity. Let no one take those from you.

Harm no one. Equally as important; Let no one harm you. You life has value. Your life matters. Now, it's up to you to figure out what you want to do with it.

Avoid desperation-inspired actions. Let no one create desperate circumstances or situations for you. Do not create desperation in your own life, nor in the lives of others. Make decisions from personal leadership, self-worth and faith in the future. I acknowledge that none of these are always as easily done as said. The morons won't be sitting on the throne forever.

Life will bring you lots to fear, but the fear is only as strong as how much validity you give the incentives behind it. See the truth for what it is, not what others "tell you" it is. Search for your own answers. The "threats" that cause fear are usually never as powerful as we "think" they are.

Don't give up. Remember that a single voice supporting you as a human is stronger than a million voices denouncing men.

It is easy to hear negative voices in modern media and social media and feel that they individually carry equal weight to the voices of the real people you know - they don't. Don't count them as being of equal importance. What matters is how people who know you treat you - what they think of you as an individual human.

I am female and I know most of my female friends are positive about males most of the time. The same as most males are positive about females most of the time. Real people.

I've had similar thoughts at times... I wish I could give you a solution, but I can't. As far as I can tell, things are only getting so much worse. It truly breaks my heart to have seen my female friends specifically (those I grew up with) turn into man-hating, bigoted hypocrites after we all graduated from high school (or at least, most of them).

The thing is, these aren't online feminists who spew their (baseless) anecdotes about how "oppressed" they are and how "abused" they have been by men throughout their entire lives. They can say just about anything, and who am I to deny these things happened (I still find it very hard to believe what feminists say... it always seems like they make it up or at least blow it vastly out of proportion/are dishonest about what really happened, just because it's ideologically convenient to paint men as sub-human trash)... but with the women I know & grew up? I know *exactly* what they have experienced. Or more precisely, what they DIDN'T.

A grand total of ZERO of these women I know have ever been abused in any significant way. To say they are overly privileged & overly protected people, would be an understatement. At worst, they may have experienced things like cat-calling... and fair enough man, cat-calling is stupid & I agree that most women find this degrading & childish behavior. It's definitely one of those things that I will never understand why some men do it... but I'm sorry, if "cat-calling" is the extent of your so-called "oppression", then you live an insanely privileged existence.

None of these women have ever been hit/assaulted by men. None of them have experienced DV. None of them have been raped. Perhaps groped in a club, or something along those lines? Maybe, but that holds true for basically all my guy friends too so that's not a "female" issue.

Many of these women grew up close to where I lived... These were incredibly safe neighborhoods in an already incredibly safe town. Nothing (seriously) bad ever happens here. Even in our main city, you can basically walk alone at 2 AM & nothing will happen.

All these girls I know will insist they are oppressed because they "feel" scared and the "world is so dangerous to women", and it's like: "girl, just because you experience these emotions doesn't mean you are objectively less safe than men. It's INCREDIBLY unlikely that you will be victimized in any way by a stranger, and that chance INCREASES if you're male. That's basic national statistics & it's true in every country on Earth".

Other than that, it's the usual "dating sucks for women" (massive delusion), objectification this, workplace sexism that, female rights this, male privilege that. They say all of this unironically (even the girls that went to freaking law school) when we live in one of only ten countries on Earth (supposedly) that gives women full legal equality. In reality, that means a LOT more right for women because the standards used to assess "female equality" don't really have anything to do with rights "only men" have. Because if you judge countries by that metric, then basically all countries on Earth offer complete legal equality, bar from a few exceptions.

They will gladly ignore that men don't have the right to genital integrity anywhere on Earth. Even in my "enlightened" and "progressive" European country, I was still circumcized for """medical reasons""". There was no need for it & the fact that it was seen as the first & only solution is absolutely abhorrant. But there is ZERO consideration for this on a societal level. The very, VERY few times I've mentioned it, women have immediately shut me down, insulted me & said it's "nothing compared to FGM & not a real issue, it's just a piece of skin". Because mutilating the genitals of young boys is apparently completely okay, "because FGM is worse". What an asinine argument. Murder is worse than rape, does that mean it's okay to rape people? And btw, the idea that FGM is (always) "worse" does not stand up to scrutiny.

And that's not even talking about reproductive rights, parental rights, etc etc.

The point I'm making is: all these girls I know, they HAVE NOT "suffered" to any significant degree... certainly not enough to justify their bigotry towards men. Yet they ALL push this misandrist bullshit anyway. And the fact that basically none of these girls were this ideologically brainwashed before college makes it even worse. These women were funny, kind, smart, good & interesting people. Suddenly, after University/Academic indoctrination, they all became radical leftist, pro-Marxist, feminist lunatics. It's fucking CRAZY.

I can still talk with these women & have a good time, but knowing what they truly believe now, it just flat out disgusts me. They are not "victims". They shouldn't be excused because of "Uni brainwashing". They were adults for fuck's sake. They should have seen this disgusting anti-male brainwashing for what it is, but almost none of them did. They all gladly drank the kool-aid & I'm just supposed to swallow that? When I saw my high school crush delve into the most hateful of woke identity politics (calling all white people racist, etc, despite the fact that she's "white passing" and like 75% white or something), I just gave up hope.

It is indeed truly disheartening to live in a society that justifies & celebrates hatred against you as a male. It's gross.

First of hang in there. Sometimes things can get dark. Society is indeed messed up at the moment and it is unclear whether or not that is going to change or not. I’d say your best bet is to live your life to the fullest regardless of how people look at you. People will find reasons to hate you in any political climate. So do your thing, be careful who you talk to and focus on being the best version of yourself. Good people are going to notice and appreciate you, as long as you aren’t bitter and angry. That’s the way I like to simplify things for myself. Hope this helps

I choose to stand for what I am and that I'm not inherently evil because I was born as such. And I intend to be one of the voices to stand opposed to that trend.

I've honestly never felt this way to any extreme. Mainly because I know that half the population is male so we are never alone. I do see a lot of men hating posts but that says more about the women writing them than it does about us innocently reading them. If it ever feels like too much then just take some alone time to get away from it all, no need to die.

I don't think you are hated sir. They just hate how men spend much less attention on girlfriends than before. It's an extreme insecurity they have.

Porn,videogames, male friends, female friends all take attention away from girlfriend. You can call it a survival instinct or whatever it doesn't matter. How men crave sex, women crave attention and the quality of that attention.

They feel abandoned by men since men are spending more of their time and attention on other shit.

Bonus points if you seem like you are happy and they aren't, they hate that shit.

Also the quality attention means like the type of man you are. They won't care about you if they can't get that deep dominant type of attention that they crave.

They are hard wired to feel needed almost all the time. A lot of men are doing their own shit and just watching porn to get off. This leaves only a few men actually going to the gym and taking very good care of themselves. Most women are fighting for the very small amount of gym bros. Small amount of men who are trying hard for a women. I know because I have also let go of my self. For me though it wasn't just because of porn, it was because I just didn't care about my self. Some days I would and some days I wouldn't care about my self. I just felt hopeless because of traumatic experiences. I would just feel worthless a lot of the time.

It's too easy for both genders to abandon each other if they aren't married. Its a good thing but if you aren't the most confident person it's extremely demotivating.

The only thing I know to recommend is to stay hopeful you can find 10 out of 10s. Obviously still don't get married because of the risks but yeah.
