Never watched it, but have watched reviews about it and seen certain clips and my all around conclusion of it is that it looks pretty bad. To be fair, She-Hulk is an original character that has been around the MCU for a decently long time, but the gripe I have with it is the way they are choosing to handle She-Hulk and amping woke politics and the hostility towards men as a way to promote the character.

Even though I haven’t seen the series at all, ive seen some clips of the first episode where She-Hulk is learning on how to deal with her powers. With only one episode, she all of a sudden matches up to Hulk’s strength and battle IQ and belittles him by saying she handles her anger more than him. This right here already made her a unlikable character to me, because a character who just recently got these new powers that she has no idea how to control, should be stumbling over themselves and getting their ass whooped for at least a couple episodes and actually attempt to listen to their mentor. It also seemed impossible to me that She-Hulk could go toe to toe with Hulk who literally fought against Thanos (although he lost, being able to hold your own against Thanos for a few seconds is still an amazing feat given that it took more than five people to attempt to get his gauntlet off), fought against Thor, Iron Man’s hulk suit, and is a one man army against the US Military in Hulk 2008. But he gets bested by a lawyer who just got a little taste of what it’s like being the Hulk.

And then don’t get me started on her saying she can handle her anger better than Bruce because men catcall her. Bruce, who was an expert scientist, got his life torn apart after he cursed with the Hulk. Lost his job, reputation, his love, he had to go into hiding because he was being constantly hunted down by the military, when SHIELD came to recruit him they literally brought any entire division, everyone was scared of him, even the Avengers who were supposed to be his team, and Bruce even tried to kill himself at one point. I never watched the show and probably won’t, but from what I can gather, I don’t think she has even gotten a taste of a fraction of what Bruce Banner went through.

The twerking scene definitely didn’t make the show anymore appealing to me either. I once wrote about how that scene had no place in a marvel show, and someone responded by saying it’s meant to be a comedy and not taken seriously. I get it, Marvel nowadays as really pushed comedy in their movies but it has gotten so bland and just not funny anymore. Real comedy is supposed to be organic and flow into the story, like how the early Avengers movies were. But twerking? Seriously? The She-Hulk show might just be a minuscule tv show character, but now that she is in the MCU officially, she has the potential of being onscreen with the big actors, expected to do more than corny one-liners and twerking.

I have no problem with female characters, but I have yet to see a main female character that doesn’t start out as an impulsive know-it-all and isn’t an advertisement for woke politics and misandry, except Black Widow.

I watched all the episodes, mostly out of morbid curiosity, because it was so incredibly bad. It's one of the most poorly written shows I've ever seen. It's like a bunch of children wrote a show.

I'd say it's pretty sexist in the sense that all the male characters are lesser people than the female characters. The men are sexist, idiots, assholes, perverts, etc.

She-Hulk herself, Jennifer, is an awful character. She is a narcissist and is one of the most selfish characters I've ever seen. It's crazy to me that the writers thought that this was a good protagonist who would be relatable. And if someone finds Jennifer relatable, they should probably go into therapy

She complains about the world and how women are treated compared to men, but ironically, Jennifer never actually experiences any real problems.

People who think this is a good show have absolutely terrible taste in all things cinema. I wouldn't trust these writers to make a shopping list.

Hulk: literally has family abused, got turned into a monster that comes out whenever he lets loose of his emotions, gets hunted down by the govt for being a threat and to experiment on him and lock him up, is an outcast to society because of said powers, constantly on the run, can’t love another person should they get used to threaten him

The people behind the show openly say it is against men. They laugh and brag about it and blame men for it's lack of success. I have never watched an actual episode and won't but I have seen people rip it to shreds and show how sexist it is. If you like youtube check out The Critical Drinker and Clipped Coin. They both did a pretty decent job of showing what it is about.

Do something irrelevant, but guaranteed to irritate the most regressive segments of the fan base. In the case of She-Hulk, it was the over-the top sexism and misandry. In the case of Rings of Power, it was inserting previously undescribed brown people into Tolkien's middle earth. The actual content at this point is irrelevant so long as it gets us to #2...
The internet is a big place. Somewhere in the back row are people who care enough about this bullshit to make a loud and unseemly stink about something as innocuous as a black elf, or an all-woman cast. This backlash appears to validate the showrunner's shameless virtue-signaling
Now that the conversation is about internet trolls, any and all legitimate criticisms of the work are framed in terms of the bigoted responses. The focus of the conversation is no longer the shoddy writing and workmanship of the show, but instead on the culture war argument the producers hoped would occur. The show is late stage MCU where they have run out of stories to tell and do the whole “deconstruct” thing by questioning superhero tropes and turning the viewer (men) into the villain. They cleverly head off criticism by writing an intentionally terrible show, acknowledging it in the show and then make the viewer the bad guy for noticing what they did. It all begs the question… why? If you think the entire genre is crap and fans are assholes, why participate? Why not make a better story than an elaborate critique of the genre and scorching of the earth you had an opportunity to make better?

I initially thought it was stupidly misandrist and juvenile.

I watched the entire season, and my opinion slowly changed.

I realized that other characters were not like that.

I slowly became aware that she was written as overconfident and fallible, and her own worst enemy. She learned some hard lessons about overreaching and grew in humility a little bit.

I hope they do a second season where she continues to evolve and become more humble and more aware of her limitations and gain a more balanced view of herself and others.

Sadly, I do not think the studio will do that, because of the massively bad reaction from having such an ignorant misandrist be front and center.

In a few years I bet we'll have a woman counterpart for every superhero there is, e.g. spiderwoman, ironwoman, etc. And every single show will lowkey be "women are better and all men are trash". I'd be fine with the idea of them coming up with their own female protagonists and not ripping off of the existing ones.

all men are stupid (even the well-established characters like bruce banner, who has been through a LOT of shit, has been dumbed down to make the female characters appear "better")
main character is entitled, rude,, impatient, aggressive and overall unlikeable. (Thats a great thing if you wanna show character development, except that there is no development, the character is "perfect the way she is and the world owes her shit, because "she's been catcalled"") - which is quite literally sending a message of "if you're a victim, you're entitled to shit, and women are always victims because they get cat-called", while bruce was struggling to control the hulk as he got devoured in blimd rage, killing the person he loves, had abusive parents, ran from the military for years like a wild animal, lost friends, risked his life, etc., but she-hulk's biggest problems are "incompetent MEN (specifically) explaining her own field of expertise to her", "getting cat-called" and "the anxiety of being murdered for getting mad about the cat-calling", despite of what actual statistics would tell you about it. I get it, cat-calling sucks, its unwanted attention, but you cant compete with the trauma bruce had to face, and LITERALLY get pissed explaining that, after you've been asked about how well you control your anger.
she-hulk doesnt have any struggles. She walks around in green monster form without problem - women literally compliment her ass (talk about sexualization? Idk)
has immense physical power and potencial to save lives, chooses to live normal life as a lawyer, because "being a superhero is for rich marcissists and orphans" - nothing wrong with not dedicating your life to saving others just because you have an ability to, but did you have to undermine absolutely everything our beloved heroes have done in the past?

Men are useless, creeps, idiots and abusers, women are victimized and owed shit, catcalling is worse than any other trauma and nearly killing people over it is justified, the more resentful, bitter and entitled you are, more empowerment to you, and female value comes from having a sexy body.

Pretty much puts men and women into 2 boxes. Men are stupid, useless and predatory, and women are bland, bitter, angry feminists, being empowered by "that sexy ass".

Say whatever you want, based on the story, writing or the message, the movie is a garbage file. The concept of a female superhero lawyer is good and the casting did an amazing job acting, great points there. But good acting cant solve a shitty, propaganda-fueled coorporate feminist infested script. I came here to watch a movie, not get indoctrinated into gynocentrism

You might hate it, because: - It suffers from average writing (not poor: average) - her cgi is uncanny valley and hit or miss... Mostly miss if you're picky, unfortunately - the real and justifiable reason people are pissed is because the villains are incels, as is becoming more and more common in film these days, and that's kind of reductive and doesn't give you much to engage with. They're just mustache twirlingly evil caricatures with no depth to them, the same way that preppy over the top girls are caricatures in other media. To their credit, the show doesn't go out of it's way disparage any men's issues more than I think once? And it's indicated that the person saying this is full of themselves anyway, so w/e. Point is: bad guys are incels, nothing to see there, just turn your brain off.

BUUUUT...

You will probably like it because: - Jen actually has funny moments. The 4th wall breaks are well done, her male and female sidekicks are extra in a way that doesn't wear out it's welcome. It's good. We may see a Deadpool+She-Hulk teamup, and I'd be sad if people just hated it on principle of 'hurr durr it's she hulk and I was mad at that before' - the show also predicts outrage at the show. I'll say it again: ITS INTENDED TO PUSH YOUR BUTTONS. At least half of the stuff is tongue in cheek. - this show fucks. At the end of the day, Jen just want to be hot and make money and get laid with hot guys, and fuck up other people's shit who get in her way. Relatable regardless of gender. More characters like this please. - there is a daredevil episode. Watch that episode even if you skip the show. It's second to last, and has Daredevil. Do it.

TLDR: the villains are incels and the show is about a woman dealing (very humorously) with over the top male flavored obstacles. The show knows how over the top it is and shoots for laughs. As an aggregate whole it's generally funny comedic marvel faire, and gets a boost because it actually has fun with sexy stuff. Like proper fun, promise. Give it a real shot

I read the comics when I was younger and there was a ton of feminism in it but it wasn't totally over the top and abrasive. I forced myself to finish the first episode and haven't watched another. I think one of the writers said I think we have captured the feminists narrative of the comics and the director said hold my beer. It was so over the top and cringey. I understood why they went on defense mode of blaming misogyny and the patriarchy for its failure before it was even released.

This is the original origin of she hulk as written in the comics:

Jennifer Walters was a frail but smart woman who studied law at UCLA. She is Bruce Banner's cousin, who on his visit to her law firm in LA revealed that he is the Incredible Hulk.

On the way home, they are attacked by the goons of Nicholas Trask, a crime boss and the enemy of Walter’s client. Walters is shot and is about to die, but Banner, seeing no other option to save her, does a blood transfusion which exposes her to gamma radiation.

This is the modified she hulk origin in the show:

Jennifer Walters and her cousin Bruce Banner are seen traveling across the country road. Unlike his Smart Hulk appearance in Avengers: Endgame, Bruce is in human form thanks to his wrist device. Walters pitches her theory about how Captain Steve Rogers died a virgin. Her story is cut short when a Sakar jet crosses her path and Walters swerves her car as they crash into a ditch. Jennifer Walters breaks out of the wreckage and despite a warning from her cousin, she tries to rescue him. When she pulls him out of the wreckage, his blood mixes into her wound and she is exposed to a lethal dose of gamma radiation. This transforms her into the She-Hulk. However, unlike Banner’s initial days Walters is able to maintain her persona even in the Hulk form.

It isn't just the blatant sexist remarks against men or the fact that all of the bad guys are white men. It isn't just showing off how she hulk can do anything and everything just as good (in most cases better) than the hulk while insinuating his anger is inferior because he's a man and woman are always angry because of men killing them when they're upset (an actual line from the show)..

Right off the bat the show twists the source material to make she hulk to be the superior version of the two, eliminating any trace of vulnerability in favor of portraying her as the pinochle of strength and bravery.. And it doesn't end there because guess what? If your reaction is to argue against what I'm saying or call me a sexist who just can't stand to see a strong and capable female lead then you're not going to be happy about what I say next.

The creators literally (and I do mean literally) came out and said the entire show was meant to be a troll. The soul purpose of the show was to make people mad by deviating from the source material while making the character over the top feminist and the tone blatantly misandrist. Why? So they could "laugh at misogyny"..

I know what I'm saying sounds like the ravings of some schmuck trying to incite hatred.. and the fact that it coming acrossed as such only further illustrates how insanely fucked the whole thing is doesn't escape me.. but you can look for yourself.

Any day now the moon is going to turn bright red, attach itself to Earth and give us the planetary clown nose we deserve so the rest of the universe knows to avoid us.

I think the show was a shallow attempt to appeal to fans of "the current thing" and the fulcrum of leverage was the potential rage generated from long time fans of a relatively niche and clearly derivative character.

I think marvel has allowed this to happen too many times, and they may have squeezed all of the enthusiasm out of their long term fan base. Now all they have are fans who came in for she-hulk, for its slow, meaningless stories about a one night stand artist lawyer turned reluctant superheroine.

I think the show has nothing going for it. I think it won't get a second season, and I feel bad for the staff of the show that actually believed in the project and thought it would be something.

Unreal for her in character to shit all over Bruce Banner's extreme childhood CPTSD, Which is the basis of the Hulk's power. And give it a one to one comparison to literal cat calling.

Don't bother watching it, it only appeals to people who don't know how the real world works, and don't know anything about comic books, even and especially actual She-Hulk fans. Truly a failure.

Never completed the show. Too unbearable. Last day I happened to see a south Indian movie which had class based discrimination and related politics in it. But what made it special is that they never demonised any particular group of people. Nor did the movie made me feel like I was watching a documentary or a virtue signalling propaganda shit. It showed these politics in a subtle way but made sure it creates an impression on the viewers at the same time never deviated from the true narrative. This got me thinking. She-hulk and the new marvel phase 4 bullshit lack such craft. The constantly demonise men, making them bumbling idiots (especially fathers of the show) while women are showed strong independent. But the reason these shows flop is that these mainstay female characters lack any depth or struggles. Audience can't connect with them because there is nothing human about them. They are just perfect characters, all powerful snd charismatic. The only thing thats keeping them down or the only challenge they have is the patriarchial society. Once they overcome it, the villains of the show are not even a threat to them. Compare hulk and she hulk. Banner spend years controlling hulk so that he wont go on a rampage spree killing thousands. His first struggle is with himself. That created character depth. For She hulk. She had done everything. She can control her anger. She dont go on rampage spree. She is perfect in every sense. Only imperfection she has is living in a supposedly male dominated world (Yeah, Murica. The streets down her office building has hundreds of men dying homeless. But she hates men cause a few happened to be CEOs).This added with constant virtue signalling and over politizisation of the storyline makes it unbearable for the general public. Another example that I use to explain this is about the Indian movie 'RRR'. This movie has over the top action sequences, over dramatized scenes and unnecessary songs. Yet movie creates a bond with the audiences because the internal challenges the protagonists have to overcome are universal, something shared by each of us. Modern day movies lacks these. They portray one dimensional characters that are nothing but propaganda tools to spread their political view demonising everything else. Toxic soy boy fans will clap for any twerking, ass slapping, retarded humors as long as it spreads the messages. Anybody who disagree with them are called sexist/racist. This is even more problematic because this is the next step of cancel culture. Hope Marvel learns from their mistake and hires better writers who are selected based on their talents and skills rather than their skin colour or external genitalia.1

It is show where a person get power and he/she decided to live normal life. They decided to make a show about women issues. I saw the video of "Infinitely worse than you" when She-Hulks spews the "problems she faced in life" when talks to Hulk, the person that had so many issues in his life
and then I saw the video that She-Hulk run over the Hulk with a Jeep.

So yeah, it's misandry, women "empowerment", and shitty writing. Even if it was a good series with misandry dumped in, I am smart enough to differentiate between the two, enjoy the good and ignore the bad.
For example, the "Women empowerment" scene in Avengers Endgame, was stupid, forced and provided no value but didn't hinder my enjoyment of the movie, while the one in The Boys was actually well crafted and was part of the story and made sense. But either way, I enjoyed both.

But, She-Hulk is a shitty series, with shitty content and shitty messages.

Every male character was bad/stupid in some way or another, and the main villain was an incel. It could have been great but apart from the man hating, it just wasn't a good show. The best part was Hulk and the ending with him

She-hulk reminded me of a funny moment between me and my buddies. One of my buddies got into a pretty bad motorcycle accident. He was fine for the most part. He sent the group chat a horrific picture of the road rash up one side of his body. Another buddy (jokingly) said “that’s nothing”, and sent a picture of a paper cut on his finger.

That’s how She-Hulk comes off to me. Completely ignoring the pain and tragedy that is the life of the Hulk character, and telling him “Dad killed your mom in a fit of rage? Have the entire US military try to kill you? Watch the woman you love murdered because of you? Thats nothing, i get told i don’t know my job because I’m a woman, and men hit on me too much”.

Based on the way its talked about, I feel like I'd get mad watching it so it'd be a better idea to just not watch it. Though I do have a question for the creators:

Why didn't they just make a new and completely original Marvel character who happened to be a woman? Why'd they feel the need to take the concept of one character and create a cheap copy? Is coming up with new characters too hard for them now, do they think they're actually doing something or is this just pandering to a certain demographic?

I had the unfortunate experience of watching the hot garbage that is Hocus Pocus 2. Other than being a complete piece of shit money grab, the entire movie is full of dumb, incompetent men. Meanwhile, teenage girls are saving the world... At one point the main character (also a teenage girl) even spouts off some shit about "the patriarchy".

As another person here said: "1/10, do not watch unless you want to die".

Also, fuck Disney.

Huge Marvel fan. I usually watch these shows with my kids, including my teenage daughters. I was leery about watching She-Hulk and didn't bother to do so when it first came out. I was concerned about the twerking nonsense. I finally watched the first episode alone after a few weeks and dropped it again for a couple more weeks, because it just felt condescending. Finally finished the series when the last episode came out. It was never a priority to watch, just filler when I was bored.

I wanted more comic book character development actually ANY character development. I was amused by Wong. I liked Pug and his shoes. I wanted more of the wrecking crew. I liked the Daredevil hallway fight scene. I liked the 4th wall break-thru at the Disney+ screen and K.E.V.I.N. as a concept but overall the show was just blah. Episode 9 killed any chance of a 2nd season just like Rian Johnson indirectly killed Solo.

I liked this show a lot. I do not find that it portrays men, as a general category, negatively. It does include several male characters who are explicitly negative (her boss, some colleagues, a variety of dates she goes on) but it does include several male characters who are explicitly positive (her father, other colleagues, a few crossover characters). It’s a lighthearted sitcom, but is very well written if you’re willing to get below the surface.

Tried to watch. Got as far as She-Hulk telling Hulk that her life is harder than his because people catcall her and don't take her work seriously enough. Never mind all the shite Bruce went through (dead wife, dead child, end of the world scenarios, teammates deaths, etc).

Also, she has superpowers but doesn't want to save people as a hero because her career as a lawyer is more important.

Not to mention the Mary Sue and Karen tropes.

The TERRIBLE CGI.

The lack of Marvel story knowledge in the script.

The attacks on fans. The writers lack of understanding that She-Hulk is not a situation of women 'suddenly invading comics and making men uncomfortable' because men have been buying the comic book since the 1980s.

I could go on...but it just sucks generally.

I hate how she mastered her powers in an instant when it took Bruce years to do so. It was a pretty crap show but I don't think it was over the top with feminism until the last episode where it "flipped the roles" and went very chauvinistic, cat callish with her treating Daredevil like a piece of meat. It had some low key stuff here and there but all in all it was a weak story with meh acting and really missed the mark on humor and "meta" attempts.

I watched it and it was enjoyable for what it was. Was there a lot of misandry? Not so much that I could really see. The scene where she is immediately able to control herself is due to her mental stability being better than Bruce’s. She has seen what a hulk can be and thus wasn’t scared to rage out like Bruce ALWAYS was. He was traumatized by it making his fight more with his reluctance towards self acceptance. He hated the Hulk and all he did. Was she being a little feminazi-ish with the whole “control your anger or men kill you” bit? Yeah a little. But I think that’s just a character flaw I can appreciate for what it is.
