Thousands of dads are left in shock as DIY paternity tests soar. Up to 30,000 tests are being performed every year, says Alphabiolabs. In the UK about 750,000 babies are born every year. Feminists want the test to be illegal without the written consent of the mother.

Feminists will always support moving the goalposts so that they benefit. They claim to want equality and fairness but their actions show the opposite.

[–][deleted] 63 points64 points65 points 3 years ago (28 children) | Copy Link

Yeah I believe you're right. Even now though there looking at pulling back laws and lowering punishments now that more women are being called out for committing the same crimes

[–]Normal-Yogurtcloset5 53 points54 points55 points 3 years ago* (27 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. I’ve heard of woman being a mother as an excuse to give her a lesser sentence. I’ve never heard it argued that a man should get a lighter sentence because he’s father. Don’t fathers matter?

[–][deleted] 58 points59 points60 points 3 years ago (26 children) | Copy Link

There was an r/ask about sex offenders awhile ago and it was just. Circle jerk of men are bad and punish them forever...but women should have forgiveness and more lenient sentences.

Shit in the uk it's already happened.

[–]Normal-Yogurtcloset5 51 points52 points53 points 3 years ago* (13 children) | Copy Link

I used to work in a mental health clinic in rural NY and co-facilitated a sex offenders group…all men. There was no all-female sex offenders group. When I’d tell my feminist supervisor that a client has admitted to me that she has sex with underage boys I was told to not say anything about it or report it to law enforcement. When sexual assault incidents by women are not reported it allows the myth to continue that only men are sexual predators because the stats don’t represent reality. And, feminists benefit from this.

[–]Temporary_Spend_3111 12 points13 points14 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Even when you only look at reported rapes we dont count statistically men who are forced or coerced to penetrate. If you include that. Men are half of all rape victims annually and women rape men almost as much as men rape women.

Good fucken luck with getting people to see that. Even though all the data is from the same surveys by the same government organizations

[–][deleted] 30 points31 points32 points 3 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

They actively go out of there way to dismiss/not charge women with sex crimes BECAUSE they want it to be only men.

Look at all these female teachers/female prison guards getting caught and getting no charges/registration.

It's fucking insane that you're willing to give men lifetime registration and punish them for life...but give women slaps on the wrist for the same crimes means you don't really care about the issue.

When my son was in 8th grade we went to Back To School Night. His math teacher was a short, white woman who kept going on and on about my son and how he was her “special helper” because he was tall and could get items off of shelves that she couldn’t reach. On the way home I told him to not stay with her after school if she ever asked him to. I had to explain to him that too many white female teachers like to sexually prey on Black boys and he has to be aware that their attention may not be innocent.

Bro I've been hearing more and more stories like this a lot lately.

I have my opinions on why society is becoming the way it is now. I'm just tired of seeing its men getting the brunt end of the stick on all these issues

When we moved into our house I found out that I could go online and search for registered sex offenders in my neighborhood and town. I found a couple that I had questions about…18 year old men who were guilty of statutory rape. Asking about these cases I found out that they had been dating girls in high school and the couples were sexually active. But, when the boys broke up with the girls, the mothers got revenge by calling the police and having the boys arrested for rape. In high school, a couple can be in the same grade and on both sides of the statutory rape line. And, that gives vindictive girls and their mothers ammunition for punishing boys who decide they don’t want to be with their high school sweethearts for the rest of their lives. The justice system shouldn’t be allowed for petty revenge.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

My brother is a federal investigator in the air force.

I found out the majority of age is 14 for people being a registered sex offender.

I also don't think that we should be locking up kids like this. I remember seeing barely underage girls sneaking into frat parties, sneaking into bars, and lying about there age on dating apps along with some other studies I can conflicting views about a lot of this stuff. I think we have way too many people on the registry, and that the more minor ones should be able to move on with there lives.

The biggest part that is bs is that when women commit the same "gray area" sex crimes men do...the courts don't do shit but will absolutely throw the book at a man.

I dont believe in making kids (boys) lifetime criminals. Idk, I have a lot of conflicting viewpoints about a lot of this stuff.

When I lived in NJ I frequented a bar that was my main hangout. There was a girl there who’d been coming in for years and some of the guys had been intimate with her in one of the upstairs rooms. One day I was working behind the bar when the girl came in, said it was her birthday and asked if she could get a free drink. As I got her a beer and a shot I asked her how old she was. She said she was 21. A lot of guys looked up when they heard that because that meant she’d been coming in their since she was 16 and quite a few guys were just finding out that they were guilty of statutory rape.

Underage girls think they’re having fun when they go to bars, drink and hook up with guys. But, they’re actually putting themselves and the men they have sex with at risk.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I was a bouncer for 8 years and caught 17 year olds in bars. It's a big fucking deal, and could absolutely ruin a dudes life. A girl who I considered like a sister to me...used to sleep with older dudes and extort them foe money later.

How would a guy be able to defend himself whatsoever facing those charges. The system in my opinion is designed to basically scarlet letter a man for his whole life.

[–]Normal-Yogurtcloset5 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I heard about a case where a man met an underage in a nightclub and hooked up with her. The girl’s mother found out what happened and, instead of putting the blame on her daughter, called the police on the man.

During the trial the girl came to court dressed like a good teenaged girl. The defense attorney told the court that that was not how she was dressed when his client met the girl. The judge ordered the girl to go home and come back to court dressed as she was when the defendant met her.

When the girl returned to court the judge threw out the case and said that there was no way the defendant, looking at her, would think that she wasn’t 21 years old.

Some parents allow their daughters to buy and wear clothes that make them look older than they really are and then want to make men responsible when the girls act older than they really are.

[–]FierceDeity_ 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ive known a similar thing, here theres a romeo and juliet law for 14-18 or so and 16+ is fine anyhow. There was a girl in some auxiliary friend group who said she was 16 when she was 13 and did really not seem out of place among other 16 year old girls. She shagged with 17 year old guys like this, everyone believing the 1 year difference and no one batting an eye

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

A lot of guys looked up when they heard that because that meant she’d been coming in their since she was 16 and quite a few guys were just finding out that they were guilty of statutory rape.

Actually no their not. The age of consent in NJ is 16 and it's not a Romeo and Juliet thing either. It's just a flat 16, there is one exception though. If you have a position of authority (legal guardian, teacher, aunt, uncle, etc.. ) over the 16 year old the age of consent get's bumped up to 18.

A lot of people know little to nothing about statutory rape so they put themselves at risk or freak out for no reason. Those men are safe they and that girl should just be careful.

I had a feminist try and tell me that MRA isn't needed because feminism covers us as well. I pointed out that haven't seen any marches for men's rights. She said it's because they do things that deal with them. So them I reiterated that is why MRA exists.

Men were speaking up back during #metoo but were told they were taking the spotlight off women. So #metoo was used instead and the message didn't change (you're taking the spotlight off women)

But yeah, it's all fine and dandy until the wrong person falls foul of laws

This is disgusting, and she should be charged to the extent a man would. I see all the anger in these comments and I understand, but may I suggest that you’re blaming the wrong people. Feminists are not the reason men aren’t believed when they’re sexually assaulted. That’s a belief perpetuated by misogyny, by the patriarchy. It’s literally a concept introduced by men to other men (like their friends or their owns sons) that they can’t be assaulted by a woman because women aren’t strong enough. That they can’t be assaulted because they should just appreciate getting laid in the first place. This is a concept that was created by a patriarchal society that refuses to see men as vulnerable and human just as women are. Do women say these things to? Yes. Absolutely. However, this is once again internalized misogyny.

The reasons women don’t speak up for male victims isn’t because they don’t care but rather because they don’t receive the help they need from men either. How many men do you personally know that are spreading awareness about DV, sexual assault, or women’s rights? How many of you have a friend who has participate in questionable actions and not spoken up or even remained friends? The 1 in 5 women being assaulted statistic does not align with the amount of men who say they’ve never committed such a crime or who deny having friends that have. Women are too busy fighting their own battles and don’t have the extra time to focus on yours; I don’t say this to be cruel or seem apathetic but it’s the truth.

Feminists are not your enemy because they won’t have their own men’s rights march. When was the last all-male lead women’s rights march? I’m once again, not trying to upset anyone but rather giving you something to think about. It’s not our fault you aren’t being believed when you’re assaulted and it’s not on us to fix it alone, you have to help… you have to squash that toxic shit that comes out of your friends mouths, you have to nip it in the bud. Women will be here to support you but you have to do the work, we can’t carry you. I haven’t met one woman who says that laws are too strict for sexual assault when it’s carried out by another woman… and the day I do I’ll be sure to remind her that she’s not supporting feminism that way either. Feminism is about fighting for men and women to be seen as equal, it’s not only going to earn us the respect, pay, and safety in healthcare that we deserve but it will earn men the ability to do whatever the fuck they want without being branded as gay (nothing wrong with that btw), without being harassed, ostracized, or neglected.

Edit: not sure why I’m being downvoted for telling the truth. This wasn’t a post trashing men and if you believe otherwise why don’t you just engage in conversation and help me to understand why… it just literally doesn’t make any sense to direct hatred at feminists when they aren’t the root of the cause… it’s like when the rest of the country argues about who’s deserving of scraps the most while the rich literally hoard all the resources… Holding misogyny and those who support it accountable is the only way we will all win, and if you’re too triggered by that then you aren’t ready for the change you think you want to see. Each downvote represents another man that can’t reevaluate where they direct their anger and who doesn’t really care about these issues… this is why we don’t speak up for you guys. You refuse to do anything to help yourselves…. Just blame women for your problems or for not solving them. Grow up. Everything we have accomplished we started up and got done because we refused to stay victims.

Is this feminism or patriarchy?

I predict your response will be: those are not rEaL feminists blah blah blahLet's see how correct I am.

How many men do you personally know that are spreading awareness about DV, sexual assault, or women’s rights?

Infinitely more than the number of women who are spreading awareness about men's rights.

How many of you have a friend who has participate in questionable actions and not spoken up or even remained friends?

How many of women do the same?

Men are infinitely more likely to question their friends than women are. How women question their friends who divorce rape/ baby trap/ paternity fraud/ assault men?

Yeah absolutely 0.

when was the last all-male lead women’s rights march?

Do you think feminist will allow all male lead in women's rights march?

not sure why I’m being downvoted for telling the truth

No need to pat yourself on the back.

What you said is mindless feminist drivel 101.

There is no truth to that.

If you have access to Reddit you have access to the internet, you could easily find how feminism originated accurately if you wanted to.

You seriously linked another Reddit thread for men’s rights, cmon man. Where’s the stats? I have plenty showing the inequality between how men and women are treated in America. Oh and show some that don’t involve the preconceptions men have placed on each other.

If you have access to Reddit you have access to the internet, you could easily find how feminism originated accurately if you wanted to.

Where’s the stats?

There are many stats in the link I posted but you can't be bothered to read it.

I have plenty showing the inequality between how men and women are treated in America.

Nah you don't.

All you have is feminist propaganda.

I knew you wouldn’t so that’s okay.

Yeah I don't like to believe in bullshit.

Not that it matters, you haven't used it in quite a long time.

I just got tired of trying to fix your cognitive dissonance 🤣 those stats are literally related to the fact that women are sexualized even by the law and are seen as less threatening than men and therefore they are punished less severely… that’s still misogyny. That’s like saying that women not having to pay for drinks while men do is a feminism-caused issue… How embarrassing for you. Stay mad though 🤷🏽‍♀️

Fetterman made more sense that this comment.

What stats are you're talking? Plus you ignored my first comment that had definite proof of feminist against gender neutral rape laws.

Before you were acting so smug and all knowing and now you have no arguments LMAO. You can't even string 3 sentences together that make any sense.

You are so pathetic.

Downvoted for troll-level post lol

Feminists are not the reason men aren’t believed when they’re sexually assaulted.

Really, explain why all reddit feminist subreddits (2x, askfeminists, feminists etc) will auto-ban men and will not entertain any post containing anything concerning men as victims, including in neutral posts that examine both men/women without any bias towards either in the same post.

Just posting on here about SA will get you banned from those subreddits automatically. Almost like they don't want to engage with people like that.

If you haven't already you should watch The Red Pill documentary that highlights the extent to which feminists will fuck things up for men seeking support. Pulling fire alarms to shut down events and staging huge protests, banging pots and pans to drown out speakers etc.

[–]clancypants67 -2 points-1 points0 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I don’t think that feminism Reddit auto-banning men equates feminists being the reason you guys aren’t believed. I also don’t know the context of which you posted about SA but if it was on a post where a woman was expressing feeling unsafe or if she was divulging her own experience and you went going on the post saying “well, men too”, it doesn’t exactly help women feel heard or safe… so yeah that would be why you get kicked off.

I’ve never seen that documentary but I will look into it. I will say the same thing I’ve said before to another poster on here. Extremists do not make a movement.

[–]NibblyPig 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

You don't think pushing a heavy strong narrative to exclude people contributes to them being taken seriously?

What about if I auto banned black men, don't you think spreading a culture of shunning and ostracising black men might just make people not want to take them seriously?

And not even the extremists - it would absolutely influence your average punter if they look around and see it's normal to ban black men because whatever they have to say is not worth listening to because they're black men. Like, eww black men you say? I heard they have nothing to contribute, after all they're banned all over the place, and then they complain about being banned which is totally pathetic and stuff.

Seems clear that the so-called 'extremists' are actually not extremists at all, they're just regular people influenced by others. If a so-called extremist feminist tells a woman that men are rapists, and that women goes 'ok, seems reasonable, I read about it in the news', that woman isn't an extremist. She doesn't campaign or try to push her views. But she has been influenced and now shuns men and thinks they are bad because someone who told her.

[–]clancypants67 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I’m saying that extremists are the ones who care enough to interrupt your meetings and safe spaces. That’s wild af to me.

I’m saying that I don’t believe feminism is about exclusion. I believe when it is portrayed and utilized as it’s supposed to be it will help everyone. Maybe that’s naive of me, but that’s what I think feminism is about. It’s not about shaming men. It’s not about separating us, it’s about bringing us together. I suppose I can’t see why women can do the self reflection needed to make necessary changes yet men seemingly can’t. A lot of women have recently found out that all the shit they thought they didn’t care about like pumpkin spice lattes, being “high maintenance”, having standards is something that was perpetuated by misogyny. There’s women figuring out who they are right now because of feminism. There’s women who were brainwashed into accepting the bare minimum from men because it was taught to us as normal like “atleast he doesn’t cheat on me or beat me”. THIS is what feminism is about. Women loving themselves. Women not expecting the bare minimum of a decent human being. Women not picking up after grown ass men while also working 40+ hours a week. We aren’t expecting much, it just seems like a lot because it’s been wrong for so long.

It’s not about shame or neglect for many of us.. but we meet so much resistance that yes, many of us do become angry and jaded by the experience we have with men. These aren’t situations we pull out of our ass, we really deal with this bullshit. Your friends may not admit to it but too many of us have the same story to be lying. At the end of the day we have to sit with the fact that we were fooled. We were ignorant and bamboozled, but we do it anyway. It hurts to completely rewrite our way of thinking after so many years but we do it. Why can’t men?

[–]NibblyPig 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I believe when it is portrayed and utilized as it’s supposed to be it will help everyone

They said the same thing about communism and look how that worked out.

Your ideas about what feminism is are not connected to reality. If you want to write on paper that feminism is about equality and helps everyone, great. But feminism in the real world is not at all what you have written down.

All of that stuff you've written about women 'figuring out who they are' is bullshit, feminism does the opposite and tries to reason with women by examining logically what they SHOULD be, and saying yep that's what women must be then since logically it makes sense. When in reality nobody is a robot defined by a committee meeting of what they SHOULD be. They create idealised versions of themselves and then pretend that that's who they are. It's bullshit. There are plenty of guys out there who will treat women well, but women do not go for those type of people. The problem is not with the men, because there are plenty of good ones, the problem is with the women for going for people that are like that.

It's not even a case of being 'taught'. Nobody says go marry an asshole. Instead it's a consequence of too much freedom to indulge your base desires and emotions without any critical thinking. You think a guy wants a smoking hot 10/10 girl with big tiddies and a slim waist. Sure. And a woman wants a guy who is shredded, tall, and charming. In both cases, the person they desire has a LOT of options. You think that guy/girl is going to dedicate themselves to you when they have 30 other men/women fawning for them? No. You're probably gonna get treated like shit. The guys are smart enough to realise they can't chase after these girls because they will be left with nothing. The women however live in a society that is geared to telling them they can do whatever they want, have whatever they want, act however they want, that they're empowered, brave, bold, you name it.

So they chase after these asshole guys because their base emotions devoid of ever being told to stop and think and consider their future, and then bad things happen, and somehow it's men's fault! Why are men such assholes?!

Protip, almost all men are not assholes, just the ones you choose are. Then you go to these good men that have never done anything wrong to you, who have good sensibilities and act kindly, and you beat them with a stick and chastise them for being assholes, when they never were in the first place.

[–]clancypants67 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Lol do I have news for you. That’s literally what every fucking woman I know was going for for years. We were all fed that shit. Go for the nice guy , he’ll treat you right…. Yeah those “nice guys” usually have hidden agendas or end up cheating on you anyway because they have poor self esteem and you being with them isn’t enough to tell them their attractive. So now we go for the guys that are hot and confident because it’s a 50/50 shot and if we get fucked over atleast it’s not the guy we chose in order to “play it safe”. Atleast we didn’t settle for someone we weren’t initially physically attracted to just to be cheated on anyways. It’s funny because women are told to settle all the time yet I don’t hear the same shit being told to guys. I’m not being idealistic. That’s what feminism is. If other people alter it for their means that’s got nothing to do with me. You must really not know how manipulative men are lol Ofcourse we don’t see someone with a million red flags and think “ah, that’s the one” men literally pretend to be what we like til they can trap us with marriage or a baby and THEN reveal their personality… why do you think so many women are convinced that men are sociopaths? It can literally be 3 years of this great guy and then, asshole. The men I choose are assholes? Lol so how does every woman I know have the same story? We are ALL choosing bad ones? Lol statistically that doesn’t make any sense gtfoh

[–]NibblyPig 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You don't have to be so extreme.

Go for someone who is attractive and confident, but check for other red flags first.

Guys just want someone who isn't fat that is fun to be around, they're not really very picky. They can see bitter man haters a mile away though.

why do you think so many women are convinced that men are sociopaths?

It's not many, but it's clearly who you hang around with. Women like this tend to convince themselves they're the victims and it's all men's fault to absolve them of any responsibility or guilt, leading them to be childless and single with a dog or two cats in their 30-40s. I suppose you find solace hanging around with other like-minded people, probably why every woman you know has this story.

You're being downvoted because this is an idiotic argument, why on earth would a system built to privilege men do anything to not give men ultimate privilige in every single instance? It's because patriarchy theory is junk science created to perpetuate a supremicist movement by guilting the out group (men in this instance) into not looking behind the curtain.

[+]clancypants67 -15 points-14 points-13 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Just because you don’t understand how a system came to be doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist… what kind of sense does THAT make? You have google just like I do man. Use it, because misogyny was formed thousands of years ago. Hint: religion is a BIG one. Also, misogyny exists in different cultures for different reasons. They probably didn’t realize thousands of years ago the implications that would come with the nonsense they were spewing, people were not the wisest, especially the religious nut jobs. I’m America atleast, we are just now seeing the consequences to men’s mental health… because we also just recently started taking mental health seriously… because a mentally unwell country is easy to manipulate and mental disorders like depression, anxiety, chronic stress have been linked to physical ailments and we all know about our for profit healthcare system at this point. Misogyny literally perpetuates this. Feminisms also isn’t about guilt tripping or attacking men. Once again, holding yourself or the beliefs that you have accountable isn’t a punishment. What do you think women have been doing with this movement? We realize our own internal bias and have to correct that ourselves. We hold our selves accountable and make the changes necessary to do better. Feminism has NEVER been about reigning over men or being superior. Which is pretty clear if you (once again) do your research. Actual research that excludes bias. Also, how does it make any more sense to blame the feminist movement for the toxic shit you guys say to each other? The amount of invalidating things I hear guys to each other is astounding. It’s not coming from over here, the call is coming from inside the house.

[–]duhhhh 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Feminists actively block acknowledgment of males being heterosexual rape victims, support services for them, and laws to protect raped men and boys.

For statistical reporting, rape has been carefully defined as forced penetration of the victim in most of the world. Please listen to this feminist professor Mary P Koss explain that a woman raping a man isn't rape. Hear her explain in her own voice just a few years ago - https://clyp.it/uckbtczn. I encourage you to listen to what she is saying. (Really. Listen to it! Think about it from a man's perspective.)

She is considered the foremost expert on sexual violence in the US. She is the one that started the 1 in 4 American college women is sexually assaulted myth by counting all sorts of things the "victims" didn't. A man misinterpreting a situation going in for a kiss and then backing off when she pulls back, puts up her hand, or turns her cheek is counted as a sexual assault on a woman even if she doesn't think it was. As you hear in her own words the woman's studies professor and trusted expert that literally wrote the book on measuring prevalence of sexual violence does not call a woman drugging and riding a man bareback rape ... or even label it sexual assault ... it is merely "unwanted contact"

You see she has been saying this for decades and was instrumental in creating the methodologies most (including the US and many other government agencies around the world) use for gathering rape statistics. E.g.

Detecting the Scope of Rape : A Review of Prevalence Research Methods. Author: Mary P. Koss. Journal of Interpersonal Violence Volume: 8 Issue: 2 Dated: (June 1993) Page: 206

Although consideration of male victims is within the scope of the legal statutes, it is important to restrict the term rape to instances where male victims were penetrated by offenders. It is inappropriate to consider as a rape victim a man who engages in unwanted sexual intercourse with a woman.

Src: http://boysmeneducation.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Koss-1993-Detecting-the-Scope-of-Rape-a-review-of-prevalence-research-methods-see-p.-206-last-paragraph.pdf

She is an advisor to the CDC, FBI, Congress, and researchers around the world and promoting the idea that men cannot be raped by women. There was a proposal to explicitly include forced envelopment in the latest FBI update to the definition of rape but after a closed door meeting with her and N.O.W. lobbiests, it mysteriously disappeared. She has many many followers and fellow researchers that follow her methodology and quote her studies. That is where most people get the idea rape is just a man on woman crime. Men are fairly rarely penetrated and it is almost always by another man.

Most people talking about sexual violence refer to the "rape" (penetrated) numbers as influenced by Mary Koss's methodologies, but in the US the CDC also gathered the data for "made to penetrate" (enveloped) in the 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2015 NISVS studies.

As an example lets look at the 2011 survey numbers: https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/ss6308a1.htm

an estimated 1.6% of women (or approximately 1.9 million women) were raped in the 12 months before taking the survey

and

The case count for men reporting rape in the preceding 12 months was too small to produce a statistically reliable prevalence estimate.

vs

an estimated 1.7% of men were made to penetrate a perpetrator in the 12 months preceding the survey

and

Characteristics of Sexual Violence Perpetrators For female rape victims, an estimated 99.0% had only male perpetrators. In addition, an estimated 94.7% of female victims of sexual violence other than rape had only male perpetrators. For male victims, the sex of the perpetrator varied by the type of sexual violence experienced. The majority of male rape victims (an estimated 79.3%) had only male perpetrators. For three of the other forms of sexual violence, a majority of male victims had only female perpetrators: being made to penetrate (an estimated 82.6%), sexual coercion (an estimated 80.0%),

So if made to penetrate happens each year as much as rape then by most people's assumed definition of rape then men are half of rape victims. If 99% of rapists are men and 83% of "made to penetrators" are women ... then an estimated 42% of the perpetrators of nonconsensual sex in 2011 were women.

But since made to penetrate is not rape, the narrative is that men are rapists and women are victims and boys/men that are victims are victims of men. Therefore most of the gender studies folks create programs to teach men not to rape (e.g. slash r slash science/comments/3rmapx/science_ama_series_im_laura_salazar_associate/). Therefore there is justification for having gendered rape support services which means almost none for males victimized by females. These misleading stats are ammo to tell men to shut up about rape because 1 in 5 women are raped vs "only" 1 in 71 men and dismiss raped men because men are one group "nearly all the men were raped by other men" so somehow raped men are to blame because they are men...

And before you think that was just one study, it wasn't. The prior year numbers have been really close between the sexes most years.

2010 survey results - https://www.cdc.gov/violenceprevention/pdf/cdc_nisvs_ipv_report_2013_v17_single_a.pdf

2012 survey results - https://www.cdc.gov/violenceprevention/pdf/NISVS-StateReportBook.pdf

2015 survey results - https://www.cdc.gov/violenceprevention/pdf/2015data-brief508.pdf

Scientific American - https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/sexual-victimization-by-women-is-more-common-than-previously-known

data revealed that over one year, men and women were equally likely to experience nonconsensual sex, and most male victims reported female perpetrators. Over their lifetime, 79 percent of men who were “made to penetrate” someone else (a form of rape, in the view of most researchers) reported female perpetrators. Likewise, most men who experienced sexual coercion and unwanted sexual contact had female perpetrators.

And non CDC study...

A recent study of youth found, strikingly, that females comprise 48 percent of those who self-reported committing rape or attempted rape at age 18-19.

The Atlantic - https://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2016/11/the-understudied-female-sexual-predator/503492/

Another non CDC study...

a 2014 study of 284 men and boys in college and high school found that 43 percent reported being sexually coerced, with the majority of coercive incidents resulting in unwanted sexual intercourse. Of them, 95 percent reported only female perpetrators.

And another non CDC study...

National Epidemiologic Survey on Alcohol and Related Conditions found in a sample of 43,000 adults little difference in the sex of self-reported sexual perpetrators. Of those who affirmed that they had ‘ever forced someone to have sex with you against their will,’ 43.6 percent were female and 56.4 percent were male.”

Time - http://time.com/3393442/cdc-rape-numbers

when asked about experiences in the last 12 months, men reported being “made to penetrate”—either by physical force or due to intoxication—at virtually the same rates as women reported rape (both 1.1 percent in 2010, and 1.7 and 1.6 respectively in 2011).

If my information is not enough, try reading these five threads by problem_redditor with lots more studies and references.

slash r slash MensRights/comments/oc2yp0/some_sources_on_sexual_abuse_of_men_and_boys_part/

Just maybe, rape isn't a gendered issue and we should stop treating it like one. But if we acknowledge that, then we would have to point the blame at "rapists", rather than "men".

And it isn't just the US.

Feminists lobbied against gender neutral rape laws in India, so women are not rapists and men victimized by women are not rape victims. https://www.timesofindia.com/india/Activists-join-chorus-against-gender-neutral-rape-laws/articleshow/18840879.cms

So a woman physically forcing sex on a man is not a rape in India, but a man breaking an engagement after having sex with his fiancee is a rape.

Israeli feminists were concerned if a woman raping a man was recognized by law, a man could threaten to make false accusations against the woman after the man raped her in order to keep her from reporting. Apparently false accusations are a problem for women, so they fixed this by blocking the legislation that would have made rape a gender neutral crime.

https://m.jpost.com/Israel/Womens-groups-Cancel-law-charging-women-with-rape

Nepal feminists also blocked legislation there ...

Women’s rights activists had criticised the draft ordinance saying it wasn’t empathetic towards the plight of the victims. They said that having a provision saying even men could be victims of rape could could further weaken the women rape victims’ fight for justice.

https://kathmandupost.com/national/2020/12/11/ordinance-amends-law-on-rape-but-fails-to-recognise-rape-of-boy-child-and-sexual-minorities

Even if you only care about women, you should still stop women from raping because the majority of men convicted of raping women were sexually violated by adult women when they were boys. Multiple studies in the US, UK, and Canada have shown this. Around 10 of them cited here.

http://empathygap.uk/?p=1993#_Toc498111528

So women not raping, and rape by women being acknowledged as traumatic and treated with compassion, would probably stop a lot of women from getting raped in the future. That should matter if the goal is to stop women from getting raped rather than to demonize men.

Woah, woah, woah. Hang on a second. I would NEVER invalidate anyones SA experience. I’m sorry that this woman believes she has the right to speak for all of us. I know the definition of rape and even sexual assault which does not have to involve penetration. You don’t have to explain this to me… really. I know men who have been sexually assaulted and questioning the validity of their experience has never crossed my mind. With that being said, this statistic being myth has been debunked. It’s much more complicated than that. I was never arguing whether or not men experience SA, but that it’s not taken seriously because other men downplay it. I’m not blaming the victims but rather the toxic men that perpetuate the ignorance that men can’t be SA’d. I’m saying that when men hear ignorant shit like this, please call it out. Too many remain quiet. I’ve seen it and heard it. She doesn’t speak for all of us and I’m genuinely sorry for anyone who experiences SA. I will say that the fact that out of my friends (10) 2 of them haven’t been SA’d says a lot. The statistic is accurate. Even if men aren’t hearing a blatant no, are they hearing an enthusiastic yes? Is their partner silent the whole time? Is their partner too drunk? That’s why am enthusiastic yes is the way to go. If you and your partner have a CNC king that’s fine but establish safe worlds.

. I was never arguing whether or not men experience SA, but that it’s not taken seriously because other men downplay it.

Not feminists at all then? Sorry. Tradcons are bad. They downplay the impact of women raping men too. Feminists are worse. They are the ones saying it doesn't count when women rape men. They are the ones saying most men are raped by other men. They are the ones denying resources to male victims of heterosexual rape. They are the ones saying it isn't as bad as when a man rapes a woman. They are the ones that shit all over the idea that men should be able to opt out of financial responsibilities to give raped men a way out.

I’m not blaming the victims but rather the toxic men that perpetuate the ignorance that men can’t be SA’d. I’m saying that when men hear ignorant shit like this, please call it out.

I say stop saying feminists are good. They are far greater contributors to this bigoted messaging than men. They control the bullshit statistics. They control the sexist messaging. They control the sexist public policy/funding.

Even if men aren’t hearing a blatant no, are they hearing an enthusiastic yes? Is their partner silent the whole time? Is their partner too drunk?

Do feminists care about a mans consent? I see them belittle gender neutral consent education. I hear about their programs to teach men not to rape and programs to teach women to recognize and report rape. Do you have any idea of the typical experience of men who say no to sex? I'm not even talking about the enthusiastic consent stuff. I mean "no". Here are some typical male experiences...

Once again, I am NOT arguing that people suck whether they are male or female. Women rape… this is obvious, atleast to me. So do men. I refuse to acknowledge those women as feminists because they aren’t. That’s not what feminism stands for. You can see me as being difficult, I don’t really care. That’s not the definition of feminism and I’m done arguing about that.

Men are largely raped by other men. I don’t mean to trigger you by saying that but it’s the truth. I’ve never seen a study where women blame men for their SA but I’ve seen plenty where men call each other homosexual for it.

I refuse to acknowledge those women as feminists because they aren’t. That’s not what feminism stands for.

Sure it is. If the influential feminist researchers, professors, lobbiests, public policy makers, journalists, authors, politicians, and protesters (and the "real feminists" like you using their work rather than calling out their sexism, bias, bigotry, data manipulation, outright lies, etc) were to follow the dictionary definition of feminism rather than the man hating spirit of feminism, we wouldn't be at odds with them. Most of us would be feminists ourselves.

Men are largely raped by other men.

A feminist misrepresentation. Reread the comment above.

By the layperson's definition of rape (nonconsensual sex) the overwhelming majority of raped males are raped by women.

NISVS 2010 showed that in the past 12 months, 1.1% of men were made to penetrate and 1.1% of women were raped. Look at Table 2.1 and 2.2 on pages 18 and 19 respectively.

NISVS 2011 showed that in the past 12 months, 1.7% of men were made to penetrate and 1.6% of women were raped. Look at Table 1 on page 5.

NISVS 2012 showed that in the past 12 months, 1.7% of men were made to penetrate and 1.0% of women were raped. Look at Table A.1 and A.5 on pages 217 and 222 respectively.

NISVS 2015 showed that in the past 12 months, 0.7% of men were made to penetrate and 1.2% of women were raped. Look at Table 1 and 2 on page 15 and 16 respectively

Varies a bit from year to year, but pretty even overall. In both cases the four year annual percentages add up to five. The numbers for perpetrators vary a little from year to year too.

Something like 79-84% of made to penetrate (nonconsensual envelopment) victims are victimized by women. Something like 96-99% of rape (nonconsensual penetration) victims are victimized by men. So in the 2010s, it averages out that a typical year has about 60% men and 40% women as perpetrators of nonconsensual sex outside prisons rather than the 99:1 ratio typically discussed.

Again, in 2010s about equal victims and 60/40 perpetrator split between the sexes when talking about nonconsensual sex rather than narrowly defined by feminists rape. Reread the comment above. Read the Atlantic and Scientific American articles. You have a lot to learn about rape if you've only heard the feminist perspective.

As soon as someone uses the terms misogyny and internalised-misogyny I know they are talking in bad faith. The commenter will always have a combination of those two concepts to rationalise away anything they can. They will also never consider the possibility that misandry exists.

You'll find most people won't get involved with a wall of text like that, they'll just downvote and move on.
This post seems like a conglomeration of feminist talking points and as such deserves no respect at all.

Consider /r/teacherswhorape and this little post from Karen Straughan.

The vocabulary is open to all. People sharing the same words mean little to nothing. That’s just lazy. I never said I don’t think misandry exists. People keep throwing her at me the same way they throw Kanye west and Morgan freeman quotes at black people… idc what they say, that’s not what solely represents the movement and I can’t explain their worlds because I do not share those ideologies.

Actually it's the exact opposite. I posted Karen's comments there because they say it much more clearly than I ever could. Feminists are working actively to make sure men never get equal rights. They might not represent what you think the movement is, but seeing as they have the money and power from the movement then they are representing what the movement really is. If you don't share their ideologies then maybe you should consider that you aren't really a feminist.

I mean at the end of the day my dude it’s about who has the money and the power. She is just one of the people with both that ruined feminism.

[–]matrixislife 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Maybe you should actually read what is written and posted. Karen hasn't "ruined" feminism, she's called it out for it's hypocrisy in saying one thing and doing another.

She has. Feminism was literally created only for women to have equal rights. Some asshole doesn’t speak for the rest of us, she can “redefine” it as much as she wants but being someone who has done my own extensive research, the origins remain the same.

[–]matrixislife 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Strange that. Iirc, it was Women's Lib before the 70s, then they got the equal pay act and all that, and then they changed the name to feminism. So AFTER they got equality in front of the law, that was when the name change happened and all the 3rd wave shit started happening.

Feminism was created as a superiority organisation, and I'm glad that you accept that the asshole in front of me doesn't speak for the organisation.

Do women say these things to? Yes. Absolutely. However, this is once again internalized misogyny.

This is why I downvoted you and stopped reading. See here we actually explain ourselves vs the feminist subs where they just downvote without explanation or ban you if you disagree without actually discussing anything.

In today's society women don't expect that they have to take responsibility for anything. "Misandry is just internalized misogyny". If you ever wonder why people downvote you, disagree with you, or hate modern feminists, this is a primary reason. Zero responsibility, zero accountability. "everything is men's fault".

There’s a difference between understanding the “why” behind people’s actions and excusing them. I never said that made it okay. I even included that I check women who say ignorant shit like that. Continue to cherry pick from my comment as you wish I guess.

Intimate partner violence. I wish we as a society look at gender neutral domestic violence data instead of studies looking for violence against women only. The violence is pretty equal. The perception and resources are not due to feminists. Reality is women are slightly more likely to initiate physical violence and slightly more likely to be significantly injured during physical violence.

Almost 24% of all relationships had some violence, and half (49.7%) of those were reciprocally violent. In nonreciprocally violent relationships, women were the perpetrators in more than 70% of the cases.

Behind a paywall I have archived around, but Harvard research that women are more likely than men in starting or escalating domestic violence and those women are by far the women most likely to be injured in DV. That doesn't say all women injured are perpetrators themselves, but it does indicate the problem goes beyond the feminist/pop culture model of "violence against women".

It includes:

Almost 25% of the people surveyed — 28% of women and 19% of men — said there was some violence in their relationship. Women admitted perpetrating more violence (25% versus 11%) as well as being victimized more by violence (19% versus 16%) than men did. According to both men and women, 50% of this violence was reciprocal, that is, involved both parties, and in those cases the woman was more likely to have been the first to strike.

This is a long meta study that shows we've known domestic violence isn't gendered for decades. It is good analysis. It summarizes the results of dozens of studies across decades. Not ONE study. LOTS.

Popculture article -

https://thedailycounter.com/male-victims-of-domestic-violence-are-they-ignored/

Most domestic violence research today is research of "violence against women" from grants specifically looking for data on violence against women, not gender neutral research.

The rates of partner homicides didn't used to be that far apart. Then women got help and resources and the rate they killed their husbands dropped a lot. Men didn't get DV shelters they could use to protect their kids from their abuser without getting kidnapping charges giving the abuser an upper hand in custody, government funded help to allow them to get easy restraining orders, DV intervention public policy and programs that favored them, etc. Therefore the rate that husbands kill their wives hasn't dropped much. Maybe if we want to eliminate the desperate husbands in mutually abusive relationships killing their wives, we should give them better options. That would probably save a lot of women's lives just like doing it for women has saved a lot of mens lives.

"Gender Differences in Patterns and Trends in U.S. Homicide, 1976–2015" by James Alan Fox and Emma E. Fridel. The data comes from FBI statistics ("FBI's Supplementary Homicide Reports, SHR").

https://www.liebertpub.com/doi/abs/10.1089/vio.2017.0016?journalCode=vio&

Here's part of the conclusion that the authors came to:

Among all the results already reported, perhaps the most striking and important surrounds the trends in intimate partner homicide, particularly in the context of ongoing efforts to curtail domestic violence. Some researchers argue that the reduction in male intimate partner victimization, a decline of nearly 60% over the past four decades, is because of an increase in the availability of social and legal interventions, liberalized divorce laws, greater economic independence of women, as well as a reduction in the stigma of being the victim of domestic violence. Although at an earlier time a woman may have felt compelled to kill her abusive spouse as her only defense, she now has more opportunities to escape the relationship through means such as protective orders and shelters (Dugan et al. 1999; Fox et al. 2012). As a tragic irony, the wider availability of support services for abused women did not appear to have quite the intended effect, at least through the 1980s, as only male victimization declined.

Here is a graph of intimate partner homicides by sex over the years from the study. Notice the trend for women as they got help vs men that didn't?

God forbid we help men, even if it would save womens lives.

I also suggest you look into the Duluth Model of Domestic Violence Intervention which results in men being beaten by their wives being arrested more often than the perpetrator when they call the police for help.

Ellen Pence (The creator) herself has written,

"By determining that the need or desire for power was the motivating force behind battering, we created a conceptual framework that, in fact, did not fit the lived experience of many of the men and women we were working with. The DAIP staff [...] remained undaunted by the difference in our theory and the actual experiences of those we were working with [...] It was the cases themselves that created the chink in each of our theoretical suits of armor. Speaking for myself, I found that many of the men I interviewed did not seem to articulate a desire for power over their partner. Although I relentlessly took every opportunity to point out to men in the groups that they were so motivated and merely in denial, the fact that few men ever articulated such a desire went unnoticed by me and many of my coworkers. Eventually, we realized that we were finding what we had already predetermined to find."

I suggest you read the Overview section of Erin Pizzey's wikipedia page or one of her books. She was the founder of Refuge.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erin_Pizzey

She created the worlds first domestic violence shelters. After opening several for women in the UK, she suggested that men were being abused too (often by women staying in her shelters) and men needed a shelter too. She was then slandered, her kids were threatened, her dog was killed, bricks were thrown through her windows, and she was removed from the DV organization she founded (now known as Refuge which has just recently lost funding for harming male victims for decades). She fled the country for her childrens safety and became an outspoken DV activist and anti-feminist once they moved out on their own.

That's what happens when a DV advocate tries to help men.

In the US, VAWA replaced the gender neutral Family Violence Prevention and Services Act giving extra rights/services to women and taking services/rights away from men and children. The funding and laws became very gendered. Many of the laws in the act were challenged in court and had to be rewritten. The funding is still very gendered 25 years later, so... We have lots of grants to study "violence against women" rather than gender neutral domestic violence, lots of grants to develop separate programs to "teach men not to rape" and "teach women to report rape", lots of perpetrator intervention programs for men but none for women, lots of DV resources for women but almost none for men.

I will be looking into all of these resources. Thank you for engaging me as another human being. I will say that none of my comments were meant to say that men have it easy but rather to address where this idea that men don’t have emotional needs or need psychological help come from… it’s simply not coming from women. It’s coming from the US government as you just said yourself. It’s coming from a system set in place that believes women are weak for having emotions and men are strong for not having them which is obviously incorrect… men need help too. This is why I believe that feminism that is utilized correctly will put men and woman as equals where everyone will relieved the same help and treatment. We are all human and no one is weaker than another.

Absolute mongoloid 😂. Do you also not believe in gravity, science denier?

[–]wobernein 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You keep saying the world thinks women are weak. No one here thinks women are weak. Do you think women are weak? Is that what feminism teaches you? That women are weak? That everyone thinks women are weak?
