Whenever a woman says men need to express their feelings more I always ask them to explain which ones. Most of the time they default to something along the lines of "they need to cry more". I ask them if anger or fear are acceptable and they quickly point out those can end up being toxic unless directed at the "right" things. So basically they only want men to be more emotional if it weakens them or if it is useful towards achieving women's ends.

Segregation in the gyms.

Segregation in public pools.

Segregation in public subway systems in India, Japan, Mexico ... women ride the firsts wagons.

Segregation in universities, not allowed to have men only groups, women only groups are allowed no problems.

Segregation in times of war, only women allowed to leave Ukraine!

Segregation in parking spots, women get the closer ones, even if it's more dangerous to be a man and outside!

Men should be able to choose who they want to be vulnerable to. Not force them to do so in front of everyone. How many times have you heard of men expressing their vulnerabilities towards someone and ends up getting taken advantage of and ridiculed for ever showing such emotions? Anger is also an emotion that men need to express but has to have a healthy outlet for it. Instead, they get told to suppress that emotion which is just as unhealthy as channeling that anger in the wrong ways.

We had a MRA group i our local online community and they used to keep "Clubhouse" talks on feminism, toxic masculinity and patriarchy. Following are a few points they put forward during a debate on toxic masculinity and men's mental health crisis:

Most men actually seek professional help in the developing world. (They cited a few studies back then but I don't have them currently). But only a few continue their therapy because they feel they are made responsible for their situation in the name of toxic masculinity. Hence they find it difficult in pursue therapy.
Women receive more social support compared to men of their same economic status. Hence men find it hard to receive care.
Other variables that might be the reason for the men's mental health issues are not taken into account- like empathy gap, men doing more dangerous job including military jobs, being more prone to be homeless etc.

They concluded that putting all blame on patriarchy or toxic masculinity was counter productive because it diverts attention of any genuine effort to improve men's mental health crisis.

Suicide rates among men are high for a multitude of reasons.

[1] Lower risk aversion than women

Men are less likely to avoid risky behavior/dramatic solutions than women. This is a biological difference. Feminists dislike biology in general and using a list of poorly-understood talking points will fight against this until their last breath, but simply put, male suicide rates will always be higher than female suicide rates.

[2] Men need more dramatic intervention

As male suicide is so much more common than female suicide, it is clear that suicidal men need far stronger intervention than women. The feminist "solutions" to this all have one thing in common: they don't really cost money. When was the last time you heard a feminist say "there should be strong intervention programs for men in need!"?

It never happened. Instead, they tell you that your masculinity is toxic, or tell you to join them in feminism. If you're one of the poor bastards who decides to do so, they immediately put you in the proverbial back row and shout at you about how your problems aren't real because you're a man and that women have it far harder.

Feminists are strongly against any resources going in a direction that helps men, as that money could have been spent helping women.

[3] Male emotions make most women uncomfortable

Feminism has created an entire generation of neurotic women who fundamentally believe that men are on the verge of violence at any time. They reinforce this with blatantly false stories online about experiences with men, insisting that men must deal with other men.

In this social climate it's kind of hard to be open. There's little empathy. Everyone's busy. People will go out of their way to help a woman, but stand by as a man self-destructs. They will use his destruction as a point to get sympathy for themselves and social clout though.

I speak about my feelings openly. Not in an over sharing way, but enough when required.

This is often met with women telling me I'm wrong for feeling that way and then trying to counsel me on how I should actually feel.

So, I stop opening up around such women and only talk to the boys. I am then accused of bottling my emotions and being cold.

There's no pleasing women.

Men really need to learn about healthy self expression - but i dont' think they're getting it from psychologists, feminists or women in general.

You're a man. You do need to take responsibility for things. That hurts.

But there are a thousand times you could express yourself before you're depressed that you most likely just don't.

Learn the difference between being passive, assertive and aggressive. It'll change your life, I promise.

Instead of being afraid of your anger, or getting furious and saying nothing - you've got to get in touch with what it is you want.
