So, according to this report, one third of journalists globally are women. So, seems like they’re doing pretty well then, no?

Also, what’s the context for the increase? Is it that there was an increase in the number of female journalists? Were more female journalists going into violent/dangerous areas? Was there a global increase in violence, or outbreak of war in specific countries that got more coverage? Is it simply within the normal variance?

All important context required to fully understand these results.

What percentage of journalists are women? If there are very few, then 6% killed could be a huge number. We need to know the rate of female journalists killed to know if they are being targeted or now.

Ok. just looked up the demographics of journalists. 53.4% of all journalists are women. From this we can conclude that male journalists are being targeted or that male journalists take the overwhelming majority of dangerous stories, e.g. war corespondents. We can also conclude that female journalists are most definitely NOT being targeted.

Just like the reaction when homeless demographics were released. 1/3 of all homeless are women. OMG, women are being made homeless at an unacceptable rate!

just thinking of numbers, the reason for the increment in women's casualties shows that there are more women journalist than men, considering that the same population were killed and the targets were random, this means that women have been employed more than men which could raise 2 opinions.

agreeing with feminism and treating women equal to men and giving them the same opportunities

now, i think the first one is less likely to be the case because it's been happening since way back so its mostly because of the second reason that we have this increase. so now that they have what they wanted(equality of some sort) they are not satisfied, they want the merit without the dangers of the job.

long story short, their problem is not equality, i don't know what they want.
