Genuine question: how do you guys feel about male visual objectification? (male strippers, models, topless sportsmen etc). I've been surprised by how many guys actually like it or are just neutral

Like most men, I don't care, since I'm not a psychotic narcissist trying to hide blatant jealousy of my more attractive peers under a layer of pseudomoralism.

I hate the obvious hypocrisy on women's part, though. If I ever were to take a step into a stripclub or sexhouse, I'd become a disgusting objectifying mysandric pervert. Hell, I'm not even allowed to look at a girl for more than two seconds. Meanwhile they can do whatever they want, to the point of groping performing teenage boys at concerts.

I think it shows the rank hypocrisy on the part of women who complain about "Male Gaze", otherwise I don't give it much thought.

I dont care and i dont even think of it as an objectification or anything bad at all, the only thing i care about is if theres double standars when compared with doing it with women.
I also think many men like it because is feedback of what we should look forward to look like, and if theres something men need is feedback and guidance we are really really lacking those. Makes sense when compared with the past because men in the past had a more defined path forward and guidance of what they should be doing as opposed to now where we are floating around without knowing what to do.

I'm okay with it as long as the men are natural. I find the shaved, 'perfect bodied' and preened objectification to be distasteful as it creates false images of masculinity. I know that such images screwed badly with me when I entered puberty as body hair was never seen when I was younger.

Fundamentally though I think that each guy doing it is free to do it as it is their choice. My own personal distaste simply effects my purchasing patterns.

I will admit to anger though when in one breath you see women angry about female objectification and in the second breath screaming like harpies as they touch up oiled strippers. Hypocracy tends to irratate though

When it's strippers or models, I don't see reason to care. Like, part of the reason they got the job in the first place was because of their looks, attractiveness, etc.; part of the job is literally to be objectified.

When it's sports, it's a different story because it's not about how attractive he is, it should be about how they're competing for the best score, fastest time, etc. - and that's where the apparent hypocrisy is, when there's women doing the commentating at men's olympic swimming, there's almost always some tongue-in-cheek fawning over fit/athletic dudes in speedos; but any male commentating on the women's events doesn't dare say anything about their body's.

I feel the same about women and men on this subject. To each their own. Do you. What I don't like is when a group claims victimization and demonizes/blames made up groups like 'patriarchy' when it's obvious they're asking for it. Men don't objectify women. Women objectify women. It's stunning how many women post nude selfies of themselves on line. That used to be rare - but now its positively ubiquitous. For this reason and more, I deeply hate feminists.

They are unhealthy, Imo, and way too difficult to emulate for an average man, and then there's also the double standards: it's fine if a woman looks at them but it's creepy and mysoginyst if a man looks at a woman.

Anyway, we live in a visual culture, images are the center of everything, I'm not surprised and it's too late to change it.

As a gay man, not only does it not bother me, I actually like it. I even think that to an extent it can be healthy. It's good to be aware of just how beautiful human bodies can be, I hope people can use it as motivation to embody that sort of beauty.

I don't like the hypocrisy of many feminists on the issue, nor do I approve of the augments that only women are objectified, or they're objectified more, or it's somehow different when it's done to women.

I literally got in an argument on here recently in a discussion about how white men are considered the most attractive men while asian women are considered the most attractive women. Someone was arguing that white men are not objectified the way asian women are, I argued that they certainly are, but clarified that I'm fine with white men being objectified. This freak had the nerve to respond saying "Explain how objectifying women and Asian women in particular is okay."

You can't make this up. I say I'm fine with white men being objectified, and the reaction is to act as if I've just insulted women, especially asian women.

I find it gross but kinda don't care. Male bodies are kind of disgusting. Then again I'm a straight man and not at all attracted to other men. If I were gay, I'd probably feel that way about women.

I'm far more annoyed at the insane double standards pushed by women/feminists. They never fail to mention how "female objectification" is the absolute worst thing ever, but they're more than happy to objectify men themselves. And more power to them. If anything, female attraction towards men is reassuring to some degree (with how much women constantly tell men how ugly & useless they are). It's the hypocrisy that bothers me to no end.

It should either be fine to objectify both (my stance) or neither. But feminists/women pick & choose what's convenient to THEM.

I think that enough men are starved for any positive attention that any compliments even in the form of objectification can feel pleasurable. As for being neutral, I'm drawing from my own experience when i say that often times there are so much more serious and painful things that can happen to you as a man, that dealing with the annoying "female gaze" seems insignificant by comparison

It's kind of fine, I mean if a guy wants to be a male stripper then he is well within his rights. The only real problem I've heard from male strippers is the way women treat him. Namely women are free to touch the male stripper and he has no recourse to really stop them.

I’m gay but I have not been to a male strip show because they always seem like they are highly targeted at women and gay customers are barely tolerated, and that’s not the sort of environment I would want to be a customer in. I’d definitely be interested in going to a male only strip club but I understand why they don’t really exist.

I do think the male beauty standard is more problematic than the female one at the very high end because PEDs are so ubiquitous and have serious side effects for some people.

I think, like most issues of sexuality, it's about consent. If the performer feels fine in exhibiting their sexuality that's cool.

Let's be honest here. Sex sells. Women have been getting naked for a long time to get attention. In an equality based world we would need to apply the same standards to men.

All the same standards. What I men to infer by that last sentence if that if a woman is pressured into such a role against her will, this is generally as prosecutable sexual harassment. The same should apply if men are pressured into it as well.

Do consensually there are no issues. Done without consent or by forcibly pressuring someone, there are massive issues.
