I agree, there are societal pressures for women too, but in the last 5 years there have been extremely toxic and unrealistic expectations dreamed up by women via social media about what the “average man” should be.

And when you bring this up in a well mannered conversation, women just get agitated and start screeching and shouting that you are misogynistic and that “splitting a bill is sexism” or “you are making a d-ck move”.

I literally cannot have a conversation with a woman without me doing something that is a trigger. Whereas 5 or so years ago, none of this emotional blackmail existed.

It was cordial. Enjoyable. And a joy to hear about what others had to say.

It has got to a point where myself and most of my peers have stopped dating entirely, because we were just being used as ATM machines for girls who want a nice meal to post to their Instagram stories and somebody to ghost before they find their next mark.

Please rationalise how a young man is supposed to have a; Six figure job, the body of Thor, be 6”2, drive a nice luxury car and own his own apartment, all while hitting the gym 5 times a week, and fighting the silent elephant in the room that is the cost of living crisis.

A hint; This man doesn’t exist.

It is fiction. An entire genre created by the toxicity that is young impressionable girls who watch too many Hollywood movies and reality TV shows.

I just hope some of them get their wake up call. Because a lot of good and well mannered men are out there. But at the moment they are just tired of being used. And have realised that they are far better off alone.

I hope our flaws are corrected and we can go back to a time where we could enjoy one another’s company without it feeling like we are going to be the victim of the next viral tiktok trend.

Sincerely

Lost and confused men
