What does the war in Ukraine tell us about Feminism?

Have feminists ever rallied around equality in cases when men are the disadvantaged sex, e.g., the military draft?

Contrary to feminist propaganda, feminism is now the biggest obstacle to true gender equality.

Women now have more legal rights and opportunities than men, but feminists consistently oppose all attempts to close those gaps. Here are just a few examples:

Finland held a referendum on whether to continue mandatory military service for men and whether to extend it to also include women. Women (including feminists) overwhelmingly voted to continue it for men but not extend it to include women.
The UK and several European countries have recently moved to increase women's retirement age to match men's retirement age. In each case, feminist organizations have bitterly opposed the change.
In university courses where women are underrepresented (software development and engineering are pretty much the only such courses left), feminists demand huge amounts of government money for "education & awareness programs", scholarships for women, reduced entrance standards, etc to increase the number of women.
But in university courses where men are underrepresented (e.g. veterinary science - 90% female), feminists bitterly oppose all efforts to increase the number of men. Even privately funded scholarships for men are blocked by feminists as "supporting the patriarchy" and such nonsense.
The criminal justice system treats women far more leniently than men at every step of the process, including (but not limited to) sentencing where men are given sentences 63% (23 months) longer than women who commit the same crime with a similar criminal history.
Rather than trying to close that gap, the only involvement by feminists is in lobbying to abolish prison for women entirely, thereby increasing the gender sentencing gap to infinity.

Again and again, in every situation, we see feminists taking up a stance that is directly opposed to gender equality.

So disregarding feminist lies and evaluating the ideology on the actual behavior of feminists, we arrive at a truthful & accurate definition of feminism as follows:

Feminism is the organized effort to grant women ever-more special privileges, benefits & advantages over men, all the time, in all circumstances, and without limitation while exempting women from more & more of the responsibilities men face.

Feminists are out there advocating for free menstrual products, additional days off exclusively for women on their periods, mandated gender quotas for some of the most lucrative and coveted careers at the top of society, and surely we can’t forget the extremely important UK Feminist opposition to a towing company confirming that they would not prioritize service to women with flat tires over men with flat tires…

Meanwhile, male advocates are literally asking to stop being forcibly conscripted into mandatory military service, to stop cutting pieces of our dick off less than 72 hours after being born, and maybe give a little bit of a shit that we die 3 to 5 years earlier than women.

Yeah, surely it’s men’s advocates who are the bigoted privileged pricks. Lol.

The MINUTE shit hits the fan everyone automatically reverts back to their original gender roles for survival. No matter how strong independent these women claim they are when a life and death situation comes up they run and expect the men they've always hated and shamed to protect them.

In any survival setting that has been documented across history when shit hit the fan men did the building and hunting and women did the caring and nursing.

Feminists want to be treated as men without having the burdens of men, this is insane.

Its like I wanna be treated as a woman so I don't get hit in a fight but then I will refuse to accept the responsibility of a woman.

Tbh, i think that the fact that feminism is a thing, is EVIDENCE of how well our society is doing. Because if it wasnt, if we were still having wars at our borders in the western world... the gender equality difference would be a non issue.

We will never be equal, because of this. When its needed, feminists jump onto the gender advantage to avoid having to do the difficult and painful things men deal with. And because of this, it would allways be inequal if we were truly equal.

Funny that, my sister, who is as far left as they go, made a joking comment about how she would totally get married to a dude if it meant being able to flee a country at war.

She's progressive, leftist, very feminist, always aware of the latest news about oppression and systematic disempowerement of minority groups etc etc etc, and is extremely uncomfortable with any kind of joke that might be mildly racist or sexist or what have you.

When she made that comment I replied "shame men in Ukraine can't do that" and sipped my tea. She had no reply to it, just dropped it, and moved on.

Really weird how those double standards rear their ugly heads.

Men's and women's problems in society are usually connected. And if you solve one the correct way, the other is automatically solved too.

The travel ban on young men was in place because they need soldiers. And when they think of soldiers, they think of men. Feminists want normalization of women in the military. If feminists had their way, you wouldn't think about just men when think about soldiers. And a travel ban on just men would seem dumb in that situation.

"Women and children first" comes from the stigma that women are weak and are the only ones who care for the children. Feminists want society to understand that women are capable and strong themselves, and want fathers included in child raising. A feminist wants a future in which they say "children and their parents first".

As you can see, if you fight for womens rights, it will result in further equality for men too. And if you fight against feminism you fight against mens equality. This is why mra's are really just anti everyone.

I know lots of feminists who don't agree with the "women and children first" because it stems from the idea that women are only more important if they have or want to have children, the argument against it is always that women are needed to repopulate and carry on the human race or whatever. But not all women want to have kids and therefore the "rule" doesn't apply to them Maybe you should talk about the actual policies/rules rather than just feminists opinions on them. I thought this sub was for men's rights, not "what are feminists doing or not doing"
