Being basically the red pills idea of wasted goods. I'm a 32 year old female. And I kept some of those insecurities into my 30s about being unwanted and times a ticking. But I have had more success and feel like I make a better partner now than I did when I was younger. I contribute more less neurotic and more chill.

I think as I have aged I feel happier in my own skin and content with life.

I just remember when I was 18, my back effing hurt, dude. I was extremely unpleasant. Ideologically and physically I was stiff as a board and I angered easily. I had a low opinion of all men and was scared of everything. And even while I was technically a virgin even my female friends thought I had a high body count. Because of the way I dressed and acted basically.

I'm probably look a little younger now than I did then, and I am almost 10 years older. My diet is better. I am a lot skinnier. I've been doing yoga for years. I just feel a lot less miserable and depressed than I did when I was 18, 19, 20, 21... I actually feel like I've been aging in reverse in a sense, while having more money, dressing in nicer clothes, and not feeling (as) desperate for attention.

Physical virginity, and chronological age, are not virtues. Men know this deep down. Men know that virtues are things like patience and understanding and perseverance and tranquility and love and creativity and resourcefulness and joy. The red pill men are just stuck in a dumb maze that is just as hard for them to get out of as it was for us

The red pill does two interesting things in this sphere, I think. First, it almost always targets young men. So by definition, it's going to focus on the insecurities of younger people, and a main insecurity of young people everywhere is that they missed some important boat. That boat can be in love and dating, it can be your career, it can be financial, it can be a sense of autonomy and accomplishment. No matter how you're successful or what you're doing, there's a perpetual sense in your teens and twenties that all your peers have somehow figured out [x] and you haven't. I certainly felt that way. And so the message that life is long, that you have a long time to figure out what makes you happy and what works for you, doesn't really "sell" the content. It doesn't feed the fear and anxiety loop that keeps you coming back to watch, like, and subscribe. A sense of urgency is a huge part of what's going to drive people to keep consuming the content.

Second, the red pill has no end game. To be fair, there will never be good results that lead to happiness and prosperity, so there's no real need to promise an end game. Still, they don't have a coherent vision about what a happy future looks like. Let's say you did become an Alpha Male™ and you spun the plates and you found someone who embraced their "natural femininity" and that person responds just exactly the way they predict your dominant style of being. You two are happy together. There's no stage of that argument where they say, "And then you can drop the facade and be loved for just who you are because you've found a long-term, loving relationship that you can relax within forever". No, the argument is that you just keep being a paranoid, hypervigilant person who plays mind games with this person because women can't feel love and they are only responding to this playacted persona you've cultivated so you never actually just get to be yourself and be loved for who you are. I suppose a fair reading of red pill is that you just become the persona, that you stop needing to act it out because you just are that person now. But even that argues that you could never and were never loved at any point in the relationship, you're only getting to keep the things you have because you have twisted your entire being in service to women. That's the misandry of the red pill. Men are unfuckable and unloveable in their natural state and you have to become some caricature of masculinity to--not be loved, because that's off the table--but to have access to women in any way or form.

What a bummer, huh?

But it doesn't want to draw attention to that. The hook is for really young guys feeling lost and overlooked. It has nothing really to say to men who are 30, 40, or 58. It has no interest in the end game, and it won't get views or clicks from that demographic anyway.

I find this so damaging as well. The idea that it’s unbecoming to actually have a life and be a happy person past 30 because you might not ever be a movie star appearance wise. It’s gross and shallow.
