I've been following and supporting the movement for a while now. I fully support gender equality, which is why I think it's important and completely necessary to combat anti-male discrimination. I also think it's important to combat anti-female discrimination, but get discouraged when people say that men have it better, so systemic discrimination against men doesn't matter.

Anyway. After the whole Trayvon Martin case, I realized that I'm, in at least one way, prejudiced against men. People have been saying that Zimmerman only followed Martin because he was a black male. They said, if he'd been a white female, then he would have never found her suspicious. Whether or not you agree, I realized that I do fear men much more than women. I'm a skinny, wimpy, gay male, and I live in nyc. At night, when I'm walking home, I cross the street when there's a guy (of any color) behind me, but I don't for women. I've never thought about it much before. It just feels natural.

I'm just wondering what your thoughts are. I know that most men aren't violent, but it's definitely ingrained in me to fear men in that situation. It bothers me because how can I change society's prejudice toward men, if I can't change my own prejudice.
