Thank you for the far more accurate title.

[–]Full-Bluebird385 131 points132 points133 points 3 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

THANK YOU! Knowing what I know now about feminism, when I read "equality" and "rights" I hear "privileges" and "special treatment."

American humorist Dave Berry wrote, "A person who is nice to you, but rude to the waiter, is not a nice person."

Likewise, a person who claims to value equality, but is happy with inequality when it benefits them, does not value equality.

[–]threeorangewhips3 62 points63 points64 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. My husband said once, "woman only want equality when its comfortable and convenient for them." How true that is.

[–]SteveClintonTTV 14 points15 points16 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Cushy office jobs with high pay and low expectations outside of attending a few pointless meetings? Gotta get more women into those jobs. Equality!

Hard jobs with intense physical labor, long hours, and low pay? Men can keep that shit.

It's honestly despicable how many people are fooled by this shit. Feminists don't give a fuck about equality. They want privileges.

Thank you. And holy crap, your username is a quote I use every chance I get, which is rare because only a few people I know get it. Kudos!

Kelly Beaver MBE, the chief executive of Ipsos, UK and Ireland, said: “Our ongoing research into gender equality shows that we have made significant progress with nearly half of people now agreeing equality will be achieved within their lifetime. “However, there are signs that the public are starting to push back on this progress to date, which is potentially worrying, but it may also be a sign that real change is happening in society and change can often make people uncomfortable and resistant. “Over the coming years we will continue to measure this shift and I hope that we will see this discomfort shift to acceptance, acceptance that achieving gender equality is an essential evolution for British society.”

Great research there... Over 50% think we are going too far. Conclusion, the plebians are pushing back against the righteous goal, just keep on going until they "accept" it.

[–]BobStoker 35 points36 points37 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Feminists seem to suffer from a really bad case of grass is greener syndrome. They think that men live this really perfect easy life, and once they get their equality and find that it’s not all perfect and easy, they just keep pushing for more. They don’t want to have the “same rights as men”, they want to have the same rights as the fantasy men in their imagination that don’t even exist.

[–]APA770 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's the Apex fallacy which feminism is based upon. They only look at the men at the top and faultily conclude that those men got there based on nothing but their gender. It is also why women should not be allowed into powerful positions. They are far more sexist than men.

The fact is that the average woman has always had it better than the average man, and it is still true today.

Bless their hearts, the children are the future

Some 52 per cent of Gen Z and 53 per cent of millennials say society has gone so far in promoting women’s rights that it is discriminating against men, a survey by Ipsos UK and the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership at King’s College London found. In contrast, four in 10 baby boomers (40 per cent) and Gen X (46 per cent) said the same.

Fucking Boomers

[–]CurveArtistic 29 points30 points31 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

It’s because boomer men didn’t have to deal with the repercussions of biased hiring practices promoting women in the work place

[–]XoXSmotpokerXoX 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

lets be honest, some boomer men thought flirting was whipping your dick out and waving it around, and the reason for huge shift of balance.

[–]denyjunctionfunction 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

And the older part is at the age where the difference in average life expectancy is showing in full force.

[–]CurveArtistic 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

True. I mean, boomers had life on easy mode, so understandably, they aren’t fussed about the impact of policies made after their time

[–]kandradeece 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

O they had to deal with it.. they are the ones doing the discriminatory hiring lol. Made a post years ago where i used to do interviews and our manager hired the unqualified women over the 4 other very qualified men because she was a women. Exact words were " we need to get our numbers up"

[–]Redstatesrock 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (33 children) | Copy Link

I’m at the tail end of the boomers and I have never felt a part of them, I can’t stand many of them, so I sympathize with your statement. But I would blame all this feminist bs on liberals and not on conservatives, of any age group.
Whatever this current crop of people in college are called, I generally can’t stand them, their woke shit has worn really thin with me. Whether they are typical and represent 50% of their age group I don’t know, but they are insufferable sanctimonious prigs and stupid as hell. Honest to goodness when they interview UCLA college kids and they can’t even name the ocean off the eastern seaboard of the USA, but they are convinced that they’re going to die from Global Warming and won’t listen to any science on the other side of the debate, I feel like our country is doomed.
My point is that it’s not just boomers, it’s the leftists, and they’re all crazy.

Do you think a poll commissioned by the "Global Institute for Women’s Leadership" would have ANY validity??

Oh and boomers created the internet, your phone, computer and every other bit of critical stuff you take for granted and ALSO managed every bit of infrastructure so that your ungrateful ass could sit in air conditioned comfort and put shit on us so Go Fuck Yourself!

[–]RatDontPanic 13 points14 points15 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Do you think a poll commissioned by the "Global Institute for Women’s Leadership" would have ANY validity??

Yes, because they would rather say support for radical feminism is sky high. For these groups to say "people don't like us" is a huge admission of defeat.

[–]denisc9918 -3 points-2 points-1 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

  • In contrast, four in 10 baby boomers (40 per cent) and Gen X (46 per cent) said the same.

They could have asked ALL women for all we know but that's not how the wording would lead anyone to believe.

"the majority of Generation Z and millennials" but "Some 52 per cent of Gen Z and 53 per cent of millennials" both easily fall within a margin of error but "majority" is used.

I think they did a good job of skewing the poll and results to give what would be to most people a believable result and still manage to stick it to boomers and men.

[–]RatDontPanic 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You're reaching really hard to find something wrong with that poll. And how do you know that margin of error is going to bring those numbers down in reality? They could actually go up. And in this environment the worst case scenario from that poll is there's a FUCKTON of people who disagree with radical feminism.

We can go very far with those numbers and gain some support for men as long as we ditch the "my gender, right or wrong" mentality that feminists and MRAs alike tend to resort to, and as long as we don't go whacko like those fucking incels and MGTOW "all women are bad" nutters.

[–]XoXSmotpokerXoX 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

LMAO holy shit you failed history class. Pretty much everyone involved in creating the internet was born in the 20's and 30s. The phone really BWAHAHAHAHAHA why didnt you take credit for the wheel too. The first computer was built in 38. And almost all meaningful infrastructure was also built before the boomers. Pretty epic fail of a rant.

[–]denisc99181 points 3 years ago [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

Pretty much everyone involved in creating the internet was born in the 20's and 30s.

Really, everything that is required to give you the high speed internet you take for granted today was invented by a few boffins that were born what one? generation before the boomers?.

your phone, computer

Isn't the phone/computer. Steve Jobs is widely credited with the iPhone and an Android was released around the same time. Who developed the miniaturisation that enabled these devices? Who developed the OS that runs both? The actual "phone" function of these phones is now arguably the least used part of these devices we still inaccurately call "phones".

why didnt you take credit for the wheel too

Do you mean the wheel in general(a round thing attached to something) or the modern wheel ie, alloy rims with tubeless or run flat tyres?

Elon Musk has almost finished making high speed internet available everywhere on the planet. Do you think he could do that without "inventing" anything to enable it?

ONLY your lack of knowledge on a wide variety of subjects could make it possible for you to utter such dribble.

Have a look at the Dunning Kruger effect, pretty chart here. For your sake I hope you arrive at the "peak" soon because right now the way that you're running around telling numerous people how stupid they are is showing that you're actually living proof of - The self righteous arrogance of youth is truly astounding.

Even if you could successfully argue that boomers somehow invented nothing I note that you haven't mentioned the maintenance side. Tell me how if boomers hadn't maintained everything it would still be available for your generation...

oh and "Anthropogenic Global Warming" is a theory. Theories are tossed out and/or changed constantly. There was once a theory that your 99% believed which sort of got tossed out ie, the Earth was Flat. Arguing about a theory is the very essence of making sure the theory is still valid. Only an true moron could call someone a moron for having a different view of a theory, particularly when you have so little actual knowledge.

You reckon boomers are a PITA, wait till you're a boomers age and see what you think of the arrogant fkn wankers that are the "youngsters" then.. lol

[–]XoXSmotpokerXoX 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Idiot, nothing you listed was invented by boomers. Yes boomers improved on designs, and those have now already been improved by following generations. Dont blame me you were not smart enough to name something invented during the boomer years.

Elon Musk has almost finished making

BWAHAHAHAHAHA you complete fool. Elon is Gen X moron. Fail much.

Tell me how if boomers hadn't maintained everything

You mean driven it to shit. You are responsible for most of the damn problems. Your generation is full of selfish people.

wait till you're a boomers age

I already recognize that future generations are better than my own, because I am not a selfish twat full of arrogance.

Seriously though, you have to learn how to use google Boomer. You got to feel fucking stupid bringing up examples like "the phone" or Elon Musk. Every example you have mentioned has been wrong.

[–]denisc99181 points 3 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

Good catch on Elon, I'm forever forgetting that guy isn't my age. However one mistake doesn't kill my whole argument.

[–]ashterberry 42 points43 points44 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

And the thing is, why? That's the core issue here. Feminists should be asking themselves "hmm, why do people feel we are getting too extreme?" Instead, they just immediately blame "the manosphere" and misogyny.

[–]denisc9918 16 points17 points18 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You can't be introspective if your whole world view is based on bullshit, it collapses immediately if you let a fact anywhere near it.

[–]morphoyle 21 points22 points23 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm still trying to figure out how some women think they don't have equal rights. Every time I ask I get repeated lies about the gender pay gap. It's as if what they really want is for every job to pay the same no matter the industry.

[–]EricAllonde[S] 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminism is about two things:

1) Gaining ever-more benefits, privileges and special treatment for women, all the time, in all circumstances and without limitation.

2) Relieving women of the responsibilities that men carry.

One of the responsibilities that men cannot avoid is having to face the consequences of our choices & actions. To feminists, it's unacceptable for women to have to do the same.

Choosing to enter a lower-paying occupation is a choice that people make freely in modern western countries. No one forces you to do a particular job, you can go after any job you want if you are willing to put in the work to learn the necessary skills and earn the required qualifications.

To feminists, the fact that a woman chose a lower-paying occupation should not result in her earning less. They simply don't accept that they should face consequences for their choices at all, and they rail against it. Consequences are for men, in their view.

[–]Just-Grapefruit-7032 36 points37 points38 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Exactly, women have always enjoyed many privileges, feminism just increased them and brought it to our attention.

[–]Singleservingfriendx 10 points11 points12 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Thats the whole point of any “social clubs” aka social movements, to garner more opportunities and prosperity without work while blocking others from access, from religion, political parties, to family and everything in between.

The boomers wanted women in the workplace and most of the young lasses I have spoken to feel like they have been robbed of a husband that can afford to pay for the whole family with enough change to spare for a vacation. Well good news, tech is going to make it so there will be even less.

[–]Chocolate_Fries 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I often wonder what future are we heading to? Like what will be the condition of the society 20 years from now if all this continues...

[–]tonando 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

We won't speak the same language anymore and feminists will have reached all their current goals, but by then they will have moved the goalpost many times.

[–]Chocolate_Fries 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I may have accidentally given this article a like on my PC, damn it. That's what I get for speed reading the article before bed last night.

Ironically by refusing to accept that they're the ones who need to change for once in their life, the author of this article is shooting themselves and genuinely good women in the foot. The idea of some women being told to change or improve themselves seems to be akin to blasphemy these days.

[–]LionVenom10 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I wouldn’t be so optimistic even so, the article considers it a bad thing, moreover as a millennial man who’s just starting his career, I’m not gonna do anything about it, men’s quality of life will not improve in my lifetime and I see no point in supporting the gender that hates me anymore. I noped out to live a celibate independent lifestyle just like modern society promotes for men, it’s called adaptation, and it’s the reason men have always been okay despite societal changes. Rest assured Gen Z will not be having many families.

[–]rodeo_fortuneteller 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
