I, as a man, was chastised, rebuked, and my life was made difficult because I took a day of sick leave because the previous day I had been asked to lift heavy boxes at work which played havoc with my back. My job description does not include lifting anything but I was asked to do it because all the other workers on the day were women.

I had my own doctor's certificate, certifying that I had strained my back but the company set their own doctor at 5 pm who said that he could not detect any signs of trauma in me. Obviously back trauma is not something that a doctor can detect without extensive tests

However, in my country, they are now introducing menstrual leave - paid leave for women who say that they are suffering from menstruation-related pain. There is NO WAY to say whether what they are saying is true or not.
