As a man with daughters, I actually agree with her about the type of date she describes as "creepy". And these dads are priming their daughters to be narcissistic bitches. I regularly go for something to eat or a coffee with one of my daughters, but we talk and have a laugh like human beings. They don't dress up like sluts for me. That IS weird.

I find the idea of "Daddy-daughter dates" a little weird, too, but mostly because I don't feel that it's my place to tell my daughter what she should want or expect out of someone that she dates.

I raised her to be a strong, independent young woman (she's 13, now), and I have little doubt that she is willing to stand up for herself if she is not being treated well.

I have a niece, a few years back she decided she wanted to go on a "date" with me. She had me take her to the movies, the park, buy her ice cream and have lunch at her favorite restaraunt.

It was adorable, she fell asleep on the ride back to her mum's house, woke up enough to tell me goodbye then got handed off to her mum.

what about mothers taking their sons out on "dates?" My mom and I went to the museum tons when I was younger and I guess it wasn't a date but it was bonding, she bought me food and we talked a lot.

This is one of the most ridiculous articles I've ever read. This woman is not being objective, obviously, which is evidenced by the way she describes fathers in this article as "big, bad", "creepy", incestual rapers. It's very clear that she views men as basically evil patriarchs, which is quite odd considering this woman has three boys and is married to a man. A quick look into her other posts will reveal what a terrible person this lady is. Extremely psychologically fucked up.

I am a father to a daughter, and this article truly makes me sick. I love my daughter very much and these accusations that fathers raping their daughters is "almost commonplace" are so unfounded and ridiculous, but also downright sickening. It is vitally important, and healthy, for daughters to spent time with their fathers. It is even more important these daughters don't end up man-hating psychopaths like this sad woman.
