Thats not my argument, thats your disingenuous argument.

Why don't you humor me a bit on this. If you had to choose a method to gain legitimacy for mens advocacy, would you pick the argument that would go to court, and lose on the constitutional grounds of freedom of religion, or would you instead choose to fight to make this an issue fathers would have exclusive jurisdiction?

If you go the first route, you will get people who have no animosity to you to fight against you. If it goes to a court, you won't win. If it goes to the court of public opinion, the best you could hope for is a small change in public perception. Religious people aren;t going to change for you. They would work to undermine you even though they have no ideological reason to be against the rest of the MRM. Look at how successful religious groups are at fighting against abortion. Do you want that model to be used against your interests?

If you instead advocate for an exclusive voice, you also wont win, but you would be extremely successful in changing public perception of the legal rights involved in fatherhood. Something like can be parlayed to greater fathers rights advocacy.

But the way you break it down, its like you would rather lose, and change nothing.

I said ONE reason. I had other reasons.

And Judaism not important to me and I don't believe any of it. For Brit milah and other reasons Judaism is barbaric. Did you even read my reply?

And, oh please. Even the strictest charedim don't follow everything, I guarantee it.

And claiming that a ban on Brit milah is persecution is the definition of overplaying the victim card. You would not be a victim just because mutilating children is illegal.

Seems like you have no faith in your god or religion. If you did, you'd trust that your son would follow the religion, even when you have no power to force him anymore, enough to let him choose at 18+. I sincerely doubt that jews have true 100% faith in their god, including you, because they're terrified of letting a boy choose as an adult whether to mutilate himself or not.

Are you saying the systematic and barbaric mutilation of baby boys is ok simply because it's motivated by religion? Did I misunderstand you? Because if I didn't, and that's what you said, I'm sorry to inform you that that is profoundly inhuman.

If I'm right, this reminds me of something Sam Harris said, describing a conversation he had with a rather deranged woman about this exact thing. She was very worried about morals and implications in regards to human rights of prisoners (showing that she understood morality and decency), but she had no problem with his fictional scenario where every 3rd person in a society would have their eyes removed at birth because of religion. She said basically that if it's based on religious belief, then it "can't be wrong".

Any decent human being would recoil at that kind of monstrousity. And if you can't honestly find anything wrong with the barbaric mutilation of baby boys because it's mandated by religion... well. Lack of empathy and compassion are telling enough, no need for further comment.

PS: Now if I did misunderstand, ignore all I said, it's obviously no longer relevant in that case.
