While i recognize that the elite are terrified of loosing 45% or their labor force and the necessary wage correction that would follow (labor is a supply), i am reasonably certain this is not all of the story, as the last time i checked youtube usually included some details as to why the videos where demonetized and i am not seeing that here.

It's kind of shitty that youtube would demonetize for political views but men and women are not defined by their political views either. A woman is not a woman because of her skin care routine. A man is a man regardless of how traditional or masculine he is or isn't.

YouTube is going crazy again, and this time they’re demonetizing videos not because the content is something that goes against policy, but because of what the content creator believes socially and politicly and practices in her everyday life offline.

When I see articles that open like this, I go in pretty skeptical. The allegation here is that Youtube completely demonetized a User's videos because of that User's opinions on gender roles and family values.

Unfortunately, the article stretches a number of facts to reach that conclusion.

(1) Did Youtube demonetize "nearly all" of User's videos.

No. Youtube manually reviewed her videos, and identified 84 that it deemed unsuitable for advertising. User has 210 videos in all. So Youtube demonetized less than half of her videos. That's a lot of videos, but 40% isn't "nearly all," it's... less than half. This might be a small point to some, but I think when talking about an issue this important, we really shouldn't open up the discussion with easily disprovable numbers.

(2) Did Youtube demonetize videos on "skin and hair tips."

It isn't clear. Based on screen shots provided by the User, it appears that Youtube demonetized videos such as "My Name's Richard Spencer," "Anti White Racism and the Vegas Shooting" and "Trump Made the Boy Scouts Gay!" These are not videos on skin and hair tips. These are incendiary political videos, which are not advertiser-friendly. Keep in mind, Youtube did not remove these videos... they just refused to include those videos in their advertising program. I really do not fault them for that.

What about the apolitical videos? User's screen shot also includes Baby Does the Dishes. It appears this video was one of those demonetized. I watched the video. It isn't offensive in any way. However... the video is set to music. The video seems to include the entire song. It is a beautiful song. Is she able to demonstrate that she has the necessary rights to use that song? She needs to be. Normally, you'd expect to see a song credit listed in the video description, with a copyright or license reference. I don't see that here, do you?

Youtube makes it very clear that they will only allow users to monetize their own content. That makes sense. I can't get paid for reposting other people's content. Youtube can't either. We'd both be liable for infringement. So... if your video puts Youtube at risk for a copyright claim, Youtube is going to demonetize the video. They don't have to pull the video, unless they get a DMCA request or some other sufficient notice of infringement. But they certainly aren't going to monetize content that appears infringing. I wouldn't. They don't.

The policy specifically states:

[You must be able to demonstrated that you created] all elements of the video yourself, such as daily vlogs and home videos, do-it-yourself videos and tutorials, original music videos, original short films. Make sure you own all the necessary rights to commercially use all visuals created by you.

It should be obvious that a website cannot directly publish someone else's work, and monetize it for themselves. Likewise, they cannot allow you to do it, and pay you royalties for doing so.

I'm can't say whether that's why Youtube demonetized this video, but it stands out to me as a pretty doggone good reason in this case, one that has nothing to do with political or cultural attitudes.

But I digress...

The fact of the matter is that Youtube does jerk folks around every day, on the basis of their political beliefs. We can demonstrate that with clear cases of abuse. Because we do have an abundance of clear examples of bad faith acts on Youtube's part, we can be picky when it comes to the ones we decide to make noise over.

I strongly suggest avoiding the conflicts like this, where the allegations are either exaggerated or incomplete, or the alleged bad acts can be so easily attributed to benign motivations.

Not really sure how this is mensrights related if the title is accurate. Traditionalism is against mensrights and equality for the sexes in general.

Wanting women to be women and men to be men is almost an antithesis of MR.

maybe I'm just being too pragmatic, but they surely have all kinds of metrics on which advertisements are actually giving good return on investment. If certain demographics of people aren't being swayed by advertisements, and thus aren't generating money, then why should payment be made? I don't think that every single thing in the world is a conspiracy. Google exists to make money.

I actually like the way this is going. I hope Youtube keeps up their BS and continues to alienate content makers. It's only hastening their demise and the rise of a new platform. Of course, it's cyclical, and that platform will become the new YT drunk on power and vomit it's own dogma on the masses, but the build up to it will be fun.
