Sexism against men in high school PE

Had a gym teacher in 11th grade who was blatantly full-on sexist. Just thinking about how every class would go makes my blood boil. Girls could chill on their phones in the exercise bike room, do some random organizing of the gym closet, or just sit on their phones and watch the rest of the class and would consistently receive 100 averages every quarter. Boys were vigorously required to put in effort regardless of their physical ability and would usually get mid-90s. Girls could miss a few classes and not suffer the district-wide rule of losing 4 points on your average unless they came in early to make up the missed class, but never boys. I know these figures because I caught on eventually and asked some classmates what their quarterly grades were, sure enough, every girl was a 100 and every boy was around where I stood at a ~94.

Fuck you, Ms. Capps, you wrinkly old bitch. You made the already existing disparity of my chances of getting into college as a male considerably worse because of your disgusting sexism. I hope someone calls you out on your bullshit and you lose your teaching license.

Depending on what you want to do with your life, I would just sorta ignore PE class. Study physics, or practice your guitar, or sing, or paint, or start a business, or invest in stocks, or write a novel. or do whatever you are interested in.

I don't think this has anything to do with "equality", and I think the feminists are missing the point like they usually do. There are actual physiological differences between men and women, and PE is made to bring everyone to a standard that makes sense. The test is just like any other test, where it is based off of mean scores for each sex that would indicate a healthy level of fitness.

To expect women to meet the men's standard is not equality. If you can't meet the Men's standard you need to study(work out).

This is a form of discrimination which I believe has no net detriment to society. You're going to be happier in the long run if you focus your energy on fulfilling the male expectation as opposed to fighting it, in this specific situation.

Had a PE gym in the early 90's that required all boys to do an hour of exercise daily. I'm athletic, but I've always hated team sports so I was always the worst player. Girls were not required to do anything, they typically sat around just socializing. Today, something like 80-90% of women in that town are obese.

In my high school, on the report sheets, the PE grade just said 'N/A'. I think this is because they can't discriminate against people with disabilities, so instead, they mark your 'progress'. The thing is, the boys do mandatory rugby and football and hockey, while the girls do 'dancing'. This is disgusting, considering that the head teacher is female, and hasn't done anything about this.

Try having your period while doing those tests. I had to do them in high school, we girls were graded the EXACT SAME as boys. Except the teacher (who is female) didn't give a flying crap if we had our periods, were cramping really badly or that girls are just generally not as physically strong. She didn't even care, she put a couple girls in detention for not ”trying hard enough” but they had told me that they both had their periods. I had to bite the bullet all my PE years, and no girl, cramp or not, ever outwardly complained. Men are physically stronger, women have to have periods and give birth. Both suck, but we just CANNOT have physical standards the same for both men and women. It isn't fair to either one of us.

This difference in treatment is based in the fact that men and women are actually different. In most of the tests men have to score higher than women because the average man is stronger. In some tests like the agility test where you have to touch your toes with stretched legs, women have to perform better for the same score. PE is for your own health, if you can't reach the men's average and don't have any serious medical reason for it, you will have to live with the bad grades or do something about it. Not by lowering the expectations, but by meeting them.
