Why do men hide behind the excuse that 'some men dont have father figures there fore they are unable to do basic things' . So women should be more sympathetic ?

lmaoooooo ask those same men if they know how to cook, how to patch holes in their clothes, how to properly wash clothes, and how to properly clean? Because they know none of those things. Fucking none. And those are things their mothers (typically) would have taught them.
And even if they find themselves in a situation where they need to know one of these things, their fragile brains won't let them learn it. Because they think knowing any of those things is "gay".

My mother is a legend and taught me every life skill that I need. That includes changing tyres, making my own sauce, painting, putting up wallpaper, laying down carpet, sewing, chopping wood, making fire, separating laundry, stripping wires and installing fixtures, fixing plumbing, mowing the lawn, how to make jam, etc etc. She told me "There's no such thing as 'I can't do it '. You just haven't learned how to do it yet" (prompted by 8 year old me replying "I can't do it" when she asked me to mow the lawn)

She would teach me these things by forcing me to watch her as she was doing it, and after I had watched it a bit she would have be participate. I know how to operate a damn excavator thanks to her. As a child I would hate it but as an adult I can actually brag that I know how to make sauces from scratch. That seems to be the rarest life skill these days so I'm very glad that my mother taught me.

My brother didn't listen to my mom and as a result he doesn't know how to do ANY of the cooking, sewing etc things that I know. He's older than me and if his jeans rip he will bring them to our mom. Just... pathetic.

She told me that she tried to teach him but he didn't show any interest. Well I also didn't show any interest, in fact I absolutely hated it, but my brain went into this mode where it understood that here is my parent making an effort to teach me something so this must be very important and I should listen.

No man taught me those things. And if there's something I don't know and I need to know it I will ask her and if she doesn't know it then I will find a tutorial on youtube.

Men really be sitting a washed out boxer with seven holes, dying from chloramine gas, eating a microwave meal and telling us we need them and that they need a father figure.

Pathetic. Maybe if they had listened to their mothers when they were young they wouldn't find themselves being adult toddlers.

There is also something in men that stops them from accepting that they don't know something, and that they need to learn that thing.
HOW many of us have put together IKEA furniture with a man and they just toss the instructions aside? Like??

One of my exes was 26 when I met him and rather than buying a laundry machine he would fill up a trash bag with dirty clothing and bring it to his mother. My brother would do the same when he was in his early 20s. While I've been doing my own laundry since I was 15.

It's not a lack of parental figures or specifically a male parental figure, it's just that they view mothers as housekeepers and cooks rather than parental figures.

If all women went on strike and refused to do any of these dumb things for men, society would collapse because men still wouldn't be able to accept responsibility of teaching themselves how to do things.

One guy I dated for a few weeks (still kicking myself that it lasted the 6 weeks it did), said he does not give compliments because he grew up without a father so he doesn't know how to give compliments; or do anything romantic like get me flowers or chocolates. This fool was 39 years old.

My brothers and I had no father figure - well, we had an emotionally and physically abusive mentally disturbed rager man for a father figure to be exact.

Both my brothers are financially successful IT professionals and HVM who treat their wives and our mother right (they treat all people and other animals right in general), and acknowledge their weaknesses and imperfections while being assertive and leading with direction and purpose.

Ffs, I was in kindergarden when I realized my parents hadn't taught me to brush my teeth (yeah, that was bad and they didn't care about their own dental hygiene either). That same evening at home, I asked them to help me learn or at least get me a brush. Thirty years later I have google for other things or I can ask my friends. There are absolutely no excuses.

I grew up with an absent alcoholic manipulative petulant child for a father. It definitely left my brother and I both with serious “daddy issues”. The difference between us is, he mopes through life jaded and a victim and I forced myself out into the world determined to do and learn for myself and on my own.

I can recognize the one advantage of being the daughter in this scenario is that I grew up determined to NEVER NEED A MAN and have effectively filled that role myself. He, on the other hand, had to grow up coming to terms with BEING A MAN which probably comes with more shame than any inherent value.

I can count on one hand the number of fathers I personally know who are competent around the house. 😒 As if they were going to learn anything from fathers.
