I think we should be careful about when and how we pull this statistic out, to use in conversations or on the internet; as it could be seen as callous, and back-fire.

Nevertheless, I have used it judiciously on a number of occasions to shut people down, when they start ranting-on about how men do all the killing, and how "dangerous" it is for women. It really is a game-stopper, and I often add: "Women hate themselves far more than men hate them".

And we all know they hate each other!

And of course, even when women kill themselves, men will still be blamed for it... 🙄
