Circumcision removes 3 erogenous zone from the penis, 1/2 of penile tissue and effects urination. It's extremely damaging to the penis.

I'm mostly agreeing with you here. But I would also like to point out that male genital mutilation ok third world countries is horrific. Every culture that practices FGM also practices MGM in the same conditions.

Ritual nicking is less invasive and damaging than other forms of NGC, including male NGC in virtually all its forms. Regardless, it is still considered a violation of human rights, and still considered an aspect of the same ethical issue as any other form of FGM. Taking this into consideration, it seems clear that the fundamental reason for rejecting FGM in all its forms is because it is a violation of a woman's right to bodiliy integrity, even in cases where her sexuality was not damaged in physical terms. In western countries, female genital cutting is almost always portrayed using the most severe form (Type 3, infibulation) where the external clitoris, hood, and labia are removed with the vagina stitched almost shut. This is also the rarest type. In raw numbers of baby girls, South East Asia has the highest rate of FGM. However their practice, called Sunat (Type 4, scraping), consists of just a small cut on the clitoris or clitoral hood, leaving otherwise fully fuctional genitalia. This is the same type of cutting the Dawoodi Bohra sect was accused of in Michigan, the first court case in the US regarding FGM (which led to the 1996 Federal law being invalidated by the Supreme Court).

Every society that practices FGM also cuts their boys. For a given culture, the methods and conditions are the same. Tribes in the middle of nowhere in Africa that cut girls with dirty glass do the same to boy's foreskin. Wealthier Muslim countries such as Egypt and Malaysia have both done in a clinic by doctors. FGM is not always done to prevent women from having sex, nor is it always done in a heinous and barbaric way.

Downvoters don't know how a clitoris and a glans penis are related.

They're not really related at all

They form from the same tissue in utero. And they have a similar appearances. But the similarities basically end their. Their nerve distributions and functions are completely different. The male equivalent to the clitois, labia minora and labia majora are the foreskin, frenulum, and ridged band. All of which are removed during Circumcision

I'm in no way defending FGM. It's a vile human rights violations.

But saying that FGM victims completely loose the ability to have sexual pleasure and that it's sexual effects are way more damaging than MGM is completely false and scientifically inaccurate

The group of 137 women, affected by different types of FGM/C, reported orgasm in almost 86%, always 69.23%; 58 mutilated young women reported orgasm in 91.43%, always 8.57%; after defibulation 14 out of 15 infibulated women reported orgasm; the group of 57 infibulated women investigated with the FSFI questionnaire showed significant differences between group of study and an equivalent group of control in desire, arousal, orgasm, and satisfaction with mean scores higher in the group of mutilated women. No significant differences were observed between the two groups in lubrication and pain.

Exactly! I don't get the US on this. Last week I held a door for a man at my workplace as he was carrying 2 coffees and i said something like "after you, kind sir" in a combination of french and spanish. He was around my age. We both got a good chuckle out of it and that's it.

We have 2 entrance door and if anybody, man or woman, sits there ignoring someone who needs them open but cannot open them themselves they're regarded as gullible fools. It isn't a gender thing. Sometimes my male colleagues get to exit and enter in front of me as we walk like ducks in a row. Sometimes i bust the stuff open for them. You have two free functional hands, you do the doors. And if someone holds the door for you, you say thank you or nod or grumble, and get to work. It's not like we sit around arguing about the meaning of door policies and whatnot.

There's much more to think of besides basic decency.

Types of FGM

None of them completely and permeantly remove the entire female reproducive system and none of the sterilize the individual.

FGM is freaking awful and a serious humans rights violation but how could could compare it to penectomy and castration is beyond me.
