I'd love to see this data correlated with confrontations with police. ie. what percent of scenarios where there is a confrontation result in deaths for the same groups. Might look very very different.

So the other sides here would say men are confronted by police more because more men are criminals and minorities are confronted more by police because more minorities commit crimes. If possible assemble the data on that to either confirm or rebut their positions.

I mean no offense here, but why are we arguing about this? We can all agree that the police are getting out of hand and the organisation as a whole needs an overhaul. Instead of arguing amongst ourselves over who has it worse, we should be working together to use our combined power to actually get something done!

Right now we are risking falling into the same trap that the more extreme feminists fell into - focussing on our own problems and minimising other groups. We will alienate our allies before we can get a foothold.

Posts like this one could easily be used to demonstrate that men are also at risk and should stand with the black community to fix a problem that affects us all. We may not be affected proportionately, but does that really matter? Fix the problem and it benefits both groups. And we have a much higher chance to fix the problem together than we do seperately.

This list breaks down every single type of crime. And the only two categories that white people are out numbered by people of color is gambling and manslaughter. A manslaughter/murder is only outnumbered by about 1,500

White people in some cases double the crimes of others in some categories.

At the very bottom of the webpage it shows a statistic for all violent crimes and white people clearly outnumber all people of color as the perpetrators of sad crimes. It’s not my fault your wrongs, but facts don’t care about your feelings.

This has no value if you do not compare it to the number of confrontations with the police. Black people account for 12% of the population and 55% of violent crime.

So of course they have higher chances of getting shot and it has nothing to do with officers being racist

I might get banned for this, but I just took a rubber bullet to the crotch after protesting peacefully in my city. I have officially lost a testicle. Though some may consider me half a man I feel I must speak on this.

As a black man, please shut the fuck up with this. This is not the time. We as men must make a platform, so we can discuss issues we face. But, right now my people are having their voice heard based on their action of rising up. Saying its not a race issue is damning the people who we are fighting for, my people to an eternity of abuse and silence. It is a race issue. racism is the lasting effect of slavery and after nearly 250 years we have yet to rid ourselves of it. Do not take our platform to advance your own agenda. If you want to be heard, protest, get it the street, hold a forum. make your own platform. But don't you dare take ours.

Uhhhh no. Being a black male is the overwhelming risk factor, not being male. So it is mainly a race issue. When you take black males out of the frame, suddenly police killings suddenly look completely different than what it was before. By saying that police killings is a gender issue you’re demeaning the plight blacks go through...... just like how people say “ all lives matter” as a response to “ black lives matters” it’s not all lives being targeted by cops, it’s mainly black lives being targeted by cops. Same ideology applies here. I’m sure if you ask any black male if they think they’re being targeted due to race or gender, they’ll say race
