Let me tell you about my dad. He's an engineer who works for the auto industry and loves the USA. When his company put him in charge of telling people they were fired during the Great Recession he got so sad and stressed about the jobs lost that he had to quit. He believes in real men supporting their families and teaching their children right from wrong. He is a patriot and a good person. And when I was born he chose to circumcise me.

I am not a subscriber to this sub. I just want to learn. Why should I consider myself "mutilated" thereby adopting a victim mentality? Why should I get upset about something that I can do nothing about? And most importantly, why should I take up a belief (anti-circumcision) that would logically lead me to resent my own father who I look up to? My wife and I are expecting our second kid (first was a girl) and if it's a boy, we will probably circumcise him because of my wife's family's religious beliefs. How can I convince them not to exercise a practice that their people have been performing for over a thousand years?

I ask this with all respect and an open mind.
