Dead on the money and very relevant as always. I wasn't sure if you'd changed your account with others posting your content in the MRA sub.

I think the first step has to be pushing back against the current attitudes that men don't have feelings and that we can't be hurt by insults.
It's playing into the feminism game of offendo-trons, but I can't see a better way out. At least then we'd be on equal footing with the rest of the world who have protections against that. It has be to be either "all of us have protection, or none of us do".

I like how you used xenophobia as an example of their hipocrisy. That's the example I usually use - if you say men are garbage because of the culture they grow up in, then can I say foreign people are garbage because the culture they grow up in is morally incompatible with mine?

Things like that are what eventually made me grow so disenchanted with the left. The hipocrisy underlying all that identity politics shit. All of these things are awful, but only when you do them against me. When I do them against you, it's harmless, it's deserved, and it's justified. All the time. I just can't possibly engage in a discussion with someone whose whole thesis is different rules should apply to us for doing the same thing.

At the end of the day all these buzzwords they create - "mansplaining" "false equivalence" etc., they are all made so that debating them becomes impossible, you can't wordsmith your way around them unless you agree with basically everything but the more menial issues. Language is their most powerful weapon - words are harmful or inoffensive, vague or specific, important or irrelevant, when they determine they are.

‘Men are human’, ‘men are not trash’, ‘men get sad too’, ‘men are worthy of compassion’ – this where men’s advocacy currently is.

And whilst it’s comforting to read (and should continue), it’s also a stark reminder of how far we have to go.

Yes reminding the world that ‘men are human beings’ is quite literally, the bare minimum.

As sadly - showing any compassion to men, for some is too much.

Whilst a toe further and you’ll likely draw the same brittle, self entitled cries of ‘misogyny’ and ‘sexism’ from the outrage squad.

So what about this: men deserve equal parental rights? Men deserve equal protection? Men’s health demands support? Male survivors of abuse need equal provision and care?

What about the fact that an American man is 40% more likely to die on any given day than a woman is?

What about the fact that they lead in nine of the top ten causes of death?

What about the fact that boys are behind in every stage of education, in virtually all Western countries?

What about American men being shot and killed by police twenty times as often as women?

Or dying from homelessness at 9 times the rate?

These are the uncomfortable facts, and this is where advocacy should be - not reminding people that men are not trash, dogs, snakes or pigs, who should not ‘all’ be killed.

So yes, this is square one, in a game where (despite what you may have been told) the odds are stacked against us.

So how do we move forward and how to we deal with the ogres guarding the door, who swing their clubs at those who dare to get through?

I want a list of those 200 studies.

I want to go over them with a fine tooth comb.

Not because I don't believe it's true, that I don't believe women are as violent and abusive, but because I do believe it and I'm tired of the lies; tired of the equivocations, like somehow men's violence is 'worse', tired of having my gender treated as the only reason violence exists. I have a few of those studies bookmarked, along with a few corroborating links, but it's never been enough to make the point for some reason. The PR campaign painting women as the only victims and men as the only offenders, or "most of", is too powerful.

This reminded me how misogynists complained that they get flagged by Facebook algorithm when they insult men.

"Tamela J. Gordon, a Miami-based writer who runs a closed group for about 115 Black women, said that after repeated flaggings from Facebook, she and her group members have also started to avoid [...] the words “hate” and “men” or “disgust” and “men,” and most recently the phrase “men are trash.”

Facebook soon fixed this "equal approach" bug:

"[Facebook] ... changed the company’s systems to deprioritize policing contemptuous comments about “Whites,” “men” and “Americans.”"

"[...] the company’s systems would now place a higher priority on automatically removing statements such as “Gay people are disgusting” than “Men are pigs.”"
