So, having read up on it a bit... This is kind of insane. If custody is awarded to the female parent (as it always is) and kids refuse to comply saying that the female parent is the one abusing them - their accusations are completely dismissed and should they fail to comply - the so called "reunification agency" kidnaps them and takes them to a secluded ~~concentration~~ "reunification camps" in the middle of nowhere, where they are threatened, brainwashed and physically and mentally abused until they are broken enough to comply with court's decision, withdraw their accusations, and go to live with their abusive parent...

This reads like a bad creepypasta, but this is an actual legal practice that only now got called into question because of this very case, and only then because for once the kidnapping itself got recorded and went viral, so politicians for once couldn't just sweep it under the rug...

What the actual fuck, Murica and Canada?

Also no wonder there are more male abusive parents than female ones, when courts literally refuse to accept testimony in cases where mothers are abusive ones, and simply "disappear" kids who keep insisting mother was the one abusing them, jfc...

Edit: I just read in the other subreddit that reunification camps are a thing in some parts of America. They will attempt to convince the children that their mother is actually a nice person and threaten them until they comply. Wtf!
