When I was 20-25, I was married from 2000-2005 to my ex wife and we had 2 kids, one boy and one girl. They were born in 1997 and 1998. I was/am still an accountant and was making good money back then. I was making what would today be about 150000-175000 a year depending on bonuses and so on. My ex-wife was a SAHM and I didn't mind because she didn't want to work after we graduated college. In 2005 I learned my wife had been cheating on me with a doctor in our area who made way more money than me. When I learned about it she divorced me and got together with him officially. This guy had all the connection to lawyers and judges with money i couldn't match in court so they took me to the cleaners. I lost everything, house, cars, stocks, and the kids. I got one weekend a month, and 2 weeks in the summer. Then after the custody agreement finalized, they moved cities about 2 hours away from me so i had to go to get my kids every time i got them for my weekend a month, she wouldn't let me talk to them on the phone. When they turned 14 and 13, they told the courts they didn't want to see me anymore. I begged my kids to reconsider but they said that their stepdad was way better than me and richer, so he gave them whatever they wanted, basically telling me to screw myself. I learned that their mom filed official documents to have their last names changed, and since she had full custody now, the kids took their step dads last name. I was crushed but there was nothing i could do now. In 2012, i met my now wife, and she was amazing and really helped pick me up outta a bad spot. She was my secretary (i know cue the jokes) but we really fell for each other and life was great. We got pregnant in 2013 and married in 2014. We have beautiful twins and I love them to death. My older kids didn't want anything to do with their half siblings, even saying they would spit on them if they saw them. I had no contact with either of my older kids since 2013 till just a few months ago. Around Thanksgiving of last year, my ex passed away. Step daddy doctor basically walked out on them right after since their mom wasn't around anymore. They don't have any money, don't have jobs since they both got art degrees, don't have a house or anything. They found my wife on Facebook somehow, and both messaged her a sob story and said she needed to convince me to take them in and so on. I have basically out right refused, they cut me off a decade ago for their stepdad and never even tried to call or text me as adults. They had every opportunity to try to be in my life and my twins lives but refused. Now my ex wife's family who never called me a single day of the entire life after their daughter was cheating on me, are attacking me, calling me, leaving me death threats, when they plenty of money and space to take them in.
