Hey there, hope you're having a good day. I do realise by now everyone's probably annoyed in seeing my posts pop up so often, I might as well just create a sub called "r/BaconAsks".

Anyways, my papers have been pretty good so far, it's the same feeling of anxiety before the paper and after you finished it, you think to yourself, "that wasn't so bad after all".

So, I have a few more to go and then I have a month of free time. So this is where my question lies, I always wanted to learn martial arts as I want to learn how to take care of myself as well as meet new people who have the same mentality and experience how it feels to "legally" punch someone. Jokes aside, it's always been something I wanted to do.... however my parents...I truly understand their concern and I don't blame them, their worried I may get hurt and it's absolutely understandable but I really feel I need to have this skill under my belt, how do I ensure that it'll all be ok?

Also whilst I'm here, I just want to go on a rant as well. PLEASE DO NOT BE SUPERHEROS, I see my friends and people on the street that see something go down and think it's their moral duty to join the action, the problem is, you're either gonna wake up at a hospital or worse case scenario the people you fought with are parts of gangs, it's not only gonna be you but people you care about. You may be the strongest person in the world but a knife or gun isn't something you can protect yourself from no matter what you see. I came across a video which covered these points and I just thought to share it with y'all. If you are anything, just call the authorities and if it involves you directly or indirectly, try to decelerate the situation if that fails, again, call. You guys take care.
