Engage in self improvement. yes, get fit and work on career, but also have interesting experiences and meet new people to develop an actually interesting personality. Having more experiences also means it's more likely you will have things in common.
Be genuine and interesting. Take the initiative, plan dates, flirt, talk about common beliefs and interests. Don't try to follow a script, and don't hide your genuine personality (this works better if you actually developed one)
Don't be afraid to show interest. Women love being desired, just make sure that your efforts are reciprocated so you aren't taken advantage of.
