In reference to some other recent posts, it sounds like people (mostly younger men, some of whom are quite vocal and active on this sub) are dismayed at the quality of the "advice" they have received throughout life about sex/dating/relationships.

  • Who are you/who did you received advice from?

  • Was it in-person, directly to you? Or indirectly, through some other means (TV/movies, social media, overheard, etc.)?

  • Was the person who advised you typically reliable in other ways? Would you seek their advice for other topics? Were/Are you close with them?

  • What do you look for in advice? Actionable objectives? A 'real-talk' about the reality of things? Etc.?

  • Do you think, if today, the most trusted advisor you can conjure in your life were to offer you their most genuine and heartfelt advice regarding sex/dating/relationships, it would impact your success in these areas? Have you sought their advice previously?
