It sucked when I was 19 too. But as I got older, I realized that a lot of people in relationships aren’t really that happy and cheating and drama are rampant. I realized that a lot of people don’t know how to function or find happiness outside of a relationship or casual sex. The average conventionally attractive person starts dating and messing around in middle school and usually never goes longer than a couple months before getting back up on the horse. It’s all they know.

If you can find some happiness in living for yourself, you’ll be better off than a lot of people in relationships. It doesn’t help the loneliness and the need for human contact, but I became numb to that feeling after a while. Don’t let the desire control you. Embrace your situation and find peace in it (which is hard, but that’s life).
