Anyone can see through my post history that I went through my shit and have emerged to a really good place.

How can I help others on their journey?

I met a guy at a party over the weekend, he's roughly my age, lives in my town, and he just found out his wife had been cheating on him for a while, and he's divorcing her. He's going through the thick of it now. I want to help him.

I toughed it out entirely alone when I went through it. It would have been nice to have (IRL) people cheer me on, and encourage me to see a bright future. And offer distractions, suggestions, and perspective. And be a good wingman when the time is right. Maybe recommend some books.

I don't want to overstep, but I think I can do the above pretty effectively for him, and let him vent a while to me over beer. I don't think he knows too many others who have been through it, recently anyway.

What else can we do to help our brothers get through this? Any big pitfalls I should be careful of?
