Yep, I’ve experienced this in parties before.

I’m 6’1. When I’m at a party and all the dudes are below six feet/there aren’t many dudes, girls are more receptive.

When I’m at a party and most of the guys are above six feet, I’m fucked, because six feet just became the new average. The best space to date for a man is one in which competition is sparse. Like the ratio of girls to guys needs to be 15/3.

The 6ft standard in the US is actually 6’ 2” in the Nordics. It also explains why average height men do well in SEA where the guys are short.

Yes, I think this ties in with women’s attraction being based around her mental image. If a guy is better than all other guys around her, but ‘objectively’ not a great genetic specimen, she’ll still get hit and bothered for him because it’s the mental image that drives it, not the genetics purely

I get what you're saying though. Their attraction is highly deindividuated. It's all about where you fit in the pack of men. They don't want a man taller than them (the cop out used in arguments), they want a man taller than the other men they've seen/met. They don't want a man that seems tall to them, they want a man that seems tall to a large group of other women who are assessing an even larger group of men.

It's very on the nose as a dehumanizing process of selection that has virtually nothing to do with effort based factors when it matters (when both participants are young). Male appraisal of women is like a free range farm, female appraisal of men is like a factory farm. The process for being excluded is so streamlined and instantaneous when it comes to attracting women. If one woman in a peer group doesn't want you, she will make sure all her friends know you're too ugly/short to date/interact with and the exclusion will become total very fast.

Not availability, proximity. Before the advent of mass media, proximity referred to a specific physical locale, but now with the proliferation of the internet, women subconsciously consider virtually all men in existence within their proximity.
