Never for a second show any compassion for her if she tries to garner sympathy from you. She will be out to destroy you in anyway she can. Never trust anything she says. Be cold, unrelenting and broke. Remember, never be nasty or in anyway verbally or physically aggressive, which no man should be during a marriage or divorce. Just switch off all emotions towards her. If there are any heated interactions between you, record everything. In my experience, the legal process is stacked against you as a man. False claims of abuse are trump cards that will be easily played by her. Have records of every interaction, may that be audio recordings, emails, or text messages. If she says let’s talk about this or that, hit record. The record function on your phone should become your best friend. Throughout this process, focus all your love, attention and energy on your kids as this will be difficult for them. Good luck.

Expect any word out of your wife’s mouth to be a lie, trick or some other form of manipulation once she knows you’ve filed for divorce. They turn in an instant. Dont fall for any of it and get 50/50 custody and a fair financial deal.

Going through one since January of ‘23. We had talked about it during arguments, but never went through with it. She filed in a blindsided manner and took our two kids from our home.

Went to her lawyers office two weeks later and found a whole laundry list of items she had been documenting for nearly a year before that. Most of it was beer cans in a garbage.

Self enrolled in classes and Counciling to address allegations of the divorce, and will be graduating them shortly. She still is alienating me from our children’s lives and about every two-three weeks she has her attorney on a hunt for deficiencies in my commitment to be a better person and father.

Everyone in our community sees how much I’ve grown from investing into my classes and sees me following my mantra of “I’m not here to go through it, I’m here to grow through it” concerning my self development.

It has been absolute hell dealing with her but I have had more self growth than any other time in my life. I’ve also rekindled my relationship with God which to me is one of the most important aspects of the divorce.

In your case of limited income that will be a tough one. Just ensure you file first and obtain the role of petitioner if you suspect that your wife is going to attempt to get the better of the situation.

She will want everything. Don’t reveal what you really target as assets you want to keep Negotiate everything. Don’t be nice and give her assets. If you open up that door she will keep asking and hold you hostage to get more. Set the tone that you’re not going to be fucked with.

Remember - no matter what you do, she will still do her bullshit. And her goal will be to get you in trouble so she gets primary and the house and money.

You need cameras and be able to record conversations.
