Don't focus on the wording too much. Don't memorize lines. Just tell her you want to take her out and ask what's her availability. Don't choose the day before she tells you when she's available because if you say Saturday and she says Sunday then you switch to Sunday, It makes it seem like you have no life.

There’s something about how causal it comes off that I really like. It gives me the sense that he has stuff going on regardless, and he’d like me to be there, but it’s not a dependency for him.

You don't need a script and we can always see that. If you've already been talking a lot and you know her interests suggest something along those lines. Her: yeah I'm just reading "insert book atm" You: oh the bookstore "insert name" in town is super good we should go there together and grab a coffee after

You definitely want to first feel the pulse and not to immediately out of the blue ask her out. Ask her first something more general (soft close) like "Do you like wine?" (or some other drink) and if she is positive or says she doesn't like it but likes beer for example, that's all great. Then say "We should split a bottle some time soon" or something similar.

If she's reluctant after any of these messages you'll know that she's not ready but you didn't exactly ask her out so she didn't exactly reject you. So you still have a chance so back off, try more banter and flirting and again try soft close.

Eventually, if she's positive about that proceed asking "What's your schedule like?". Then she'll tell you either that she's always busy (aka not interested) or days when she's free.

There's a few different strategies you can take, but I recommend doing what's natural to you.

I personally like two different ones. I either like to do a "series of yes answers" OR "I'm doing X soon, I'd enjoy your company."

I've found that some girls that are a bit more mature that just want to cut to the chase. So I'll just ask them straight up, "Hey I wanna take you out on a date." And then we just talk logistics like two adults trying to solve an issue, which is pleasantly nice.
