I am proud for doing those 2 approaches
As you should be!
but I know deep inside that I could be doing so much better
So next time, don't go home until you've approached 3! Keep your expectations realistic and focus on making relentless progress. One step at a time.

You actually said something sensible!!

First of all, props to you for pushing out of your comfort zone my friend.
2 words for you. Progressive overload. Treat this like the gym. You wouldn't expect to be a skinny guy walking into the gym for a first time and go benchpress 200 pounds. Likewise, you can't f.e. spend 10 years in your basement playing World of Warcraft then start going out and expect to become a p#$$yslayer in a week, it just isn't happening.
Rather baby step than try to skip levels and fail miserably because of the combination of bad skill and bad luck, think you're worthless and quit. Consistency over intensity. Slow and steady wins the race.
Good luck!

Try bars too, and try weekdays versus weekends for a variety of louder and quieter enviornments and density of people. Clubs can be both an easier and harder place to approach people.
Talk to everyone: talk to the bartenders, talk to dudes, talk to ugly girls, talk to pretty girls, talk to old, talk to young. Get good at talking to human beings and you'll get a lot better at talking to pretty girls. Only talk to the specific pretty girls you're attracted to and you'll only get a few reps packaged with all the amplified anxiety and pressure.
Talking to everyone continued: Learn to be funny and charming and a great conversationalist with everyone around you all the time. Then you'll get into longer conversations easily with pretty girls as well and then you just have to focus on adding one more element: learning to flirt and escalate in the sexual/romantic domain.

Awesome advice, thank you so much :)
[–]LyghtnyngStryke 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's probably the best advice of all. Learning to talk with anyone and everyone, just to be able to joke and talk for more than an opener.
And.... There will be silences, don't be afraid of that. Don't try to fill up every second with talking, enjoy the flow and go with it.

You should be proud of yourself all I can say is try not to be self conscious easier said then done I know but just put yourself out. Try talking to some guys as well to relieve some of the pressure off yourself. No motivation just talk, find common ground usually stuff.

I would add that many times, befriending men at clubs (for the sole purpose of being friendly), can actually help get you laid too. There’s often single women in their entourage and when you became their new friend, you automatically become respected and trusted by the ladies in their group. Don’t rule it out
[–]hotchocalatesauce 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's the true fun of a night. Hooking up and all that is a side product, but... we all low-key sure for it.

It doesn't matter if you can do more or better. As long as you're doing something it is a good thing.
Just don't do what I did for years and get hammered at the bar to get the nerve to meet girls. That can quickly turn into alcoholism.
Just set 2-3 drinks as your max and do your best!
[–]Kedrith 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's a good start, it wont get much better for about... several months, also depends how you try to approach people in general not just girls.
But it gets better and more rewarding after that. I was like you. Now i cant wait to go out and meet new people.
Go binge watch a bunch of stand up comedy. It will help you improvise humor and Conversational skills. Something I like to do before I go out to get the flow of fun and laughter flowing because that’s what women are attracted to

Clever. I should do this. Thanks for sharing that!

The more you do it the more you learn from it. Easily, you start to beat the thoughts in your head. Slowly, your conversation skills pick up. Then, it becomes a habit. Then later you naturally become good at generally talking to new people. It is a very rewarding experience. I used to be that guy frozen with anxiety until I said "fuxk it" and I'm now still learning about so much.
You also learn so much about your self. Trust the process

wow, thank you for this throughout comment. Def a lot of things to take not and improve!
I didn't really try to put those guys down or smth.. I was more like a jokingly said/fun vibe when I made that comment.
I have a bit of trouble letting lose on the dancefloor, feel like people are staring etc..
It can be helpful to arrive at the club a little bit early so you can warm up socially by chatting up people who work there at the venue, both men and women.
I think this is the most important takeaway - I feel better when the energy is lower and there are fewer people so will try to go out earlier.

Practice interacting every single day. Make small talk with cashier, mechanics, clerks and people in everyday situations.
“Busy day?”
“How’s the day going?”
“Is it always this packed in here?”
“You guys always busy at 4pm?”
“Always get a burrito here but what do you recommend?”
For those girls? “What are you celebrating tonight?”
“Am I the only one who thinks this Dj sucks?”
“Is it just me or is the music good here?”
“What you drinking tonight?”
Common misconception is that every convo has to be fireworks. It’s okay for it to be boring, it may pick up it may not but just keep getting that practice in.
This will get you more comfortable interacting with people. Seems like you’re doing pretty good so far keep going and give yourself some credit

Great topics/lines.. will add it to my go-to stuff to say, thanks :)

Glad to help, eventually these will become second nature. After you get these down hone in in body language and your social skills will be fuego.

Avoid clubs where the average guy is tall and good-looking
What sort of club doesn't meet this description, outside of niche clubs that will be sausagefests?
[–]kyle_fall 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Do you know what your MBTI type is? I'm curious if you're an introverted type.
[–]CocoBabeNYC 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Next time stay in the club the entire night until it closes. Instead of trying to avoid the discomfort, go straight through it.
[–]kyle_fall 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
There's no way you've ever done that.

I guess you have some clue how to open a conversation, but still you need to make it reactive. Ask some question, ask about opinion, make some statement that she should react to. Girl needs to invest something in your contact, making too much effort is hardly ever a way to go.
piece of advice dont start a conversation talking shit about others.
