It’s not the place that that makes something creepy, it’s the person. So if you are good at social intelligence and conversation you can approach anywhere. If you are a creepy then it won’t matter at all where you approach, you will always be a creep

Normal. Just be socially calibrated. try to consider their feelings & read their body language while you’re doing it. Most of the time it will be super obvious within the first few seconds if there’s any interest.

It’s fine in my opinion. You could ask for directions and go from there.
[–]vamsig66 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is the worst way to approach. If you’re a beginner trying to overcome approach anxiety, then it is totally fine, but it should not be your ultimate approach strategy. It is lame and inauthentic. It is much better to just confidently go up and introduce yourself and get to the point, then to pretend to ask for directions to sneak yourself into a conversation.
Please don’t listen to all these people telling you to approach super indirectly and that approaching directly is weird. What will happen if you approach indirectly, especially on a college campus, is that you will get friend zoned in a heartbeat. You NEED to go in direct. I would prefer to just approach directly and tell them I think their cute and wanted to come introduce myself to them. Even if I do open indirectly, I ALWAYS make it clear at some point that this is man to women and that I’m not just trying to make a new friend by saying at some point “Hey, you’re kind of cute, we should hang out sometime.” That way there is no room for confusion that I’m just trying to make a new friend. It also depends on the size of your campus, if you go to a super small college then going too directly can hurt your reputation, but if you go to any decent sized college, you should be fine as long as you don’t make a big deal of it.

as a guy living on a college campus, I say don’t do it unless you have a real reason to. Like I was in a gymnastics club full of girls and I was able to approach and talk to a lot of them because the social setting was appropriate to do so. But often times when people are walking around campus people are trying to get places and do things. So often you’re just in the way, wasting your own time and theirs

Like I was in a gymnastics club full of girls and I was able to approach and talk to a lot of them because the social setting was appropriate to do so.
But did any of these interactions lead anywhere?
I ask because a lot of guys become afraid to move things forward with girls they meet through clubs/activities because they have to worry about making it awkward/uncomfortable at the club/activity if they get rejected. It's also easy to "get a reputation" as they say if you try to do this with more than one girl in the same club/activity.
[–]SomeRespect 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
The bad reputation comes from 1) handling rejections poorly, or 2) being known as a player.
In that gymnastics group, better pick one or two to ask out rather than ask out all of them.
[–]TheNerdsQuest 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
What if both end up rejecting you? When do you give up on the group and throw in the towel?
[–]SomeRespect 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Hate to be harsh but you sound like someone who is desperate for any attention from any girl who is willing to give you any. Which is a turn off.
Assuming you are in the gymnastics group for gymnastics first, girls second, engage all the girls to develop rapport and see who you vibe with best before asking one out.
If you are doing gymnastics just to meet girls, the girls will realize this and find you are a creep.

I think you're right, and this is why I think that joining activities is actually not a very good way to meet potential relationship prospects. Yet this is still commonly given advice, unfortunately.
[–]OkSchool209 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
well me personally I’m not actually interested in forming an intimate relationship atm I’m just 17 and tryna grind rn. I just communicate with women because it’s just another way to get out of my comfort zone. If you’re actually trying to get into a relationship with a girl in a club or anywhere, I’d suggest to just be straight up about it. No point in wasting your time if she’s not really into you anyway. If you get rejected, that’s cool, just remain confident in yourself and don’t make it seem like you’re hurt by the rejection. In turn, that confidence is a big turn on for women I’ve noticed.

Yup that all i cold approach at. College is the best place because of the volume which u need not to mention everyone is so wrapped up in what there doing that they dont care about what your doing. Its a perfect place just be respectful i got a number of dates with girls doing cold approach at a college.
[–]AnxiousScientistDude 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
How old are you tho, college age?
[–]Keezymac34 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
23 so i guess im still around college age
[–]AnxiousScientistDude 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
Being older than average isn't exactly an advantage tho. How do you even start with a cold approach?
[–]Keezymac34 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Rule number 1 u need to realize no one cares as much as you do. Plenty of people of all ages walk around on campus i just grab a book bag just say im a grad student or visting a friend and thats if they ask most times it doesnt unless i gear the conversation towards that

You’re a weirdo
[–]Keezymac34 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Rule number 2 dont care about others perceptions of you.
[–]ooogabooogaboooga23 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You’re still a weirdo buddy, cold approaching is very unethical lmaoooo
[–]AnxiousScientistDude 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
What's the hook that you use tho?
[–]Keezymac34 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I thought you looked cute and then ask how there day is going
[–]AnxiousScientistDude 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Any bad reactions from this?
[–]Keezymac34 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No thats what makes it so funny you realise what women say online isnt what they say in person. 98 percent of the reactions were postive even when they weren’t intrested watch ag hayden day game vids that’s usually how my sessions go. People usually feed off your energy and follow your lead with the interaction even if they armt intrested. If your kind and postive and show intrest in what they are saying they will be receptive. Girls love postive attention just know when to back out it better to leave to early then too late.
[–]ProfessionalOne8518 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yea first ask help then get to know to them. Just try to be funny and confident during it

Creep is a strong word, people need to interact to become good at social interactions. Don't think you're a creep, instead think that your social skills are still not on point and you need to keep training until you level up. It's all about mindset. Observe where and what are you failing at and correct yourself. Keep going
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
why wouldn’t it be normal, if you see a fine dime, go and introduce yourself and exchange contact. Maybe she can tutor you 😏 in your dorm.
Hot take: Cold approaching in college is disgusting. I have met more girls than I can count at parties and in class. To meet women you need to expand your social network and meet the right people. Trust me girls at parties are so easy to talk to, they are there to meet men, dm if you want more info.

Just don’t do it in public cause you’ll be labeled a creep.
It shouldn’t be, but #metoo is just another step towards complete oppression

Haha. Honestly i don’t think most people are paying attention to their surroundings, especially now a days situational awareness is lacking with people wearing headphones or so consumed with their own thoughts. If you aren’t making any type of scene yea it may look like you know the chick. Being jacked I’d say works for a small subset of women, some may avoid you because of it or have false presumptions of you. I hooked up with a beautiful girl once who told me she doesn’t go for muscular guys but after being with me it changed her mind. Im more of a skinny ripped so people can’t tell unless my shirts off
