I've been a late bloomer to dating.

I just moved to a new city and have been here a month. I had followed the seddit mantra. I improved myself. I'm a student at a good university, I have a great job, I go to the gym and I'm well read too.

Somehow, I wasn't getting dates though.

Enter yesterday. Through an online dating site, I got a message from a girl whose profile I had viewed, but who I thought I didn't stand a chance with. She was a popular local musician. Very extroverted. Very hip, whereas I'm more introverted, kinda have the mysterious strong silent type thing going on. I'm a computer nerd. There's no way this girl would be interested in me.

And yet, she was. I asked her out and she agreed. She said she was going on tour in a couple days, so we either had to hang today or the following day.

I chose sooner than later.

We met at a coffee shop. The cynic in me still wanted to believe it'd all go wrong. That she'd be bored of me and it'd end sooner than later.

Coffee date went well. After that, we walked around and got lunch. And then we went to a local show where she introduced me to a bunch of her musician friends. We ended up hanging out for 5 hours, and we talked about so much during that time. I feel like we bonded over a lot.

I established some light kino, but I didn't escalate as much as I would've liked. I didn't nab the kiss, and yet, we have a second date scheduled for when she's back in town(2 weeks from now).

Even now, I feel like second guessing myself. It's hard for me to believe she was interested in me. And yet, that almost doesn't matter.

A year ago, I could never had asked someone like that out. I would've never dreamed that someone like that would be interested in ME, but she was, and now my confidence is way higher than before.

Now I know. There is no "league". I'm a good looking guy, and I have a lot of good shit going for me in my life. Of course this girl wanted to date me. Even if it goes nowhere, the flood gates have opened. I'm never going to be intimidated by another chick again.

I am worthy of nothing short of the best ladies out there and I'm never going back.
