What does a horse shoe do? Are there any horse socks? Is anybody listening to me?

Anyways, if you know you are going to go on a date with a particular individual, and you have their full name beforehand, is there any harm in doing a little research via Facebook, Twitter, etc on their likes and interests beforehand and then casually bringing up those topics during the actual date? I feel like it could greatly work to your advantage in building comfort and attraction due to its serendipitous nature (in addition to providing you with easy conversation starters), but some people might see it as somewhat...dishonest? and taking away from developing natural game/not helping in so called, "cold" situations where you don't have time to prepare.

So what about it? Has anyone even thought about doing this before? Have you done it before and does it work? Is it stupid? Is it bad and I should feel bad? Weigh in...

(also, shout out to that old lady in Billy Madison if you got the reference)
