I have been lurking for a while and I have been reading a lot of information online but I think it time for me to go out and try some things.

I am not going to lie, I have had some really fucked up things happen to me if my life that have contributed to my introverted and isolated life stlye. Luckily I decided to get professional help and I am getting my life together.

That being said, I have zero experience not just with woman, but socializing in general but I have decided to give this PUA type stuff a try.

My main problem is inner game, I get super bad anxiety. There are a lot of resources here and I even found this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8R4tJjXqJ7k which is from Ross Jeffry about approach anxiety. The problem is that my anxiety is bad enough that just rationalizing it only does so much good.

The thing is that alcohol helps me soo much. I don't even really have to be drunk, like 3 drinks and I am an entirely different person. My anxiety is completely gone. I played guitar for a group of people once, and I was shaking so bad I couldn't play. I played at a bar recently, after a few drinks, not a bit of fear and I played almost perfectly.

I know alcohol should not be a crutch and I don't want to have to drink to approach people but I don't like the idea of taking hard core medication for anxiety because of the side affects but at this point I don't care. I hate feeling anxiety. Maybe I just haven't learned to deal with it, but I have been trying hard to approach people and I have successfully done so and gotten a few numbers.

Has anyone with really bad anxiety gone the route of taking medication?
