OK, I'll keep this short. Met a girl, went well, k-closed, made out whatever. She's about an hour away, so we talked and texted back and forth, initiation was about 50/50. End up hanging out again a week or two later, went well, k-closed again (I tried going further, she pretty forcefully put the brakes on me) and I figure all was going at least fairly smooth.

The next week I try to text once or twice, nothing. I text one final time like that Friday and pretty much all I get back is "I just want to be friends." "Fair enough, I'll see you around," is how I responded. Figured that was it, something happened or whatever and it didn't work out and this was an experience to learn from. I sever ties, which, as she's an hour away is fairly easy. Didn't call, didn't text, didn't Facebook, nothing. Moved on with my life and had figured it was more or less under the bridge, so to speak.

Then, the other day she starts texting me again. "Hey, how have you been?" That sort of thing. I give her some snide remarks in reply and she keeps going. I figure, alright, whatever. I texted her last night and about 4-5 texts in she ends up calling me and we talk for a while, pretty flirtatious and everything and that brings us to today. Needless to say, I'm a little confused as to what the game is she's playing at. Which leads to the title of my post and a general WTF on my part. Oh, and thanks, you've helped to give an AFC at least a modicum of game

I'm starting to realize what a lot of posters were saying with context, so here's a little more:

She started off (after the initial meeting) as fairly inconsistent. I'd call and then she'd text me back. We'd text back and forth and then it'd pretty much just die off. Usually when that happened I'd back off for a day or two and she'd usually initiate contact on her own within a day or so. Then that wore off and we consistently talked for about two weeks straight, daily phone conversations. We hang out the last time, that following week was when I was hit with the LJBF.
