I seem to suck with eye contact. How the hell do you look into someones eyes when A) you wear glasses, idk but i find it harder to make eye contact with glasses on - prescription eye glasses. B) Without coming across has creepy?

I'm 22, haven't dated, or even come to close to anything remotely resembling trying to date, since I was 18. I ride the local Bus, to the Train, to the Light Rail, and then do that whole process in reverse, twice a week, and it's 3 hours each way, with a 1-hour dance lesson in-between trips. It's been so long, I glance at women, but nothing more, I can't bear it. I'm so starved for normal social contact, especially the kind that isn't forced due to professional obligation, that I've forgotten what eye-contact can do in a pick-up situation. I've been surfing, very very lightly, the seduction threads, for about 2 days now...

This post reminds me of a me from 6 years ago, when I wasn't afraid of anything, because I didn't realize fear was a thing until I got shot at once after having to walk home whilst drunk. And even then, I can say, beyond a doubt, that I had half of the 'game' then that you have now. At the time I was just naive and brash enough to just say 'Hey,' from across the bus. (I didn't take dancing lessons back then, but assuming I was in the OP's situation...)

Now, if I see a 'HB' as I guess you guys call Hot Babes or whatever, I'll get so nervous that I'll just pretend I never looked their direction... And I've gotten to be so convincing at that that within seconds, if not a single second, I'll feel their eyes physically move off of me.

I may have to post something saying exactly how hopeless I am, because I can't seem to find any real help in the side-bar FAQ's, and I've always learned better from direct (so to speak) interaction anyway.

I tried this too, yesterday, walking down a crowded street. A girl held my eye contact pretty intensely for several seconds, after I normally would have looked away. It felt very primal - neither of us smiled, just locked in a gaze until she glanced away before passing me. I thought, "woah..." I didn't know women could be that receptive or communicative with eye contact alone, but there it was.
