Lol that article reminded me. I was at a bar the other night and this girl walked by whose eye I had caught earlier. I said "I like your floral arrangement," or something like that referring to her hair band thing. She shot back, "I like your face." Lol, hmmm is that an IOI?

God yes! Finally someone who understands my style.

I hate all this, "say hello in a bavarian accent as you brush your pinkie on her knee and your leg on her shoulder for kino and touch" BS. What happened to just being friendly to every other person who woke up this morning and feeling every situation independently.

I'm not saying I'm some kind of magic ladies-man, but it's not rocket science, if I didn't have talking to girls somewhere in my genes my ancestors wouldn't have made me.

I think I've always knew this, its kinda logical. But I'm so damn shy that I never can start conversation with anyone and with girls its only worse. If someone talks to me first then it's ok but ME? saying anything to anyone with which I haven't talked seems like most hardest thing and weird how can I interrupt someone... Also I'm introvert so I don't really have any need to talk either.

In my opinion this is the single most important thing. Ya know why?

Because even if you're a total noobish buttwipe with closers and the rest of the art, getting onto the playing field gives you a much better chance of winning than if you can't even get off the bench.

Its a great exercise to build your confidence which will help you conquer the other steps.

Plus, even if you don't get the close, you were friendly and if anything made a friend and had a positive outcome. A better outcome than if you never said "hello"!

This is the best advice I have seen on this subreddit in a long time. I've been reading a lot of this over last 2 year. Most of it is nonsense, if you're looking for something meaningful (aside from the confidence stuff that is gold)

I have a date tonight with an attractive girl. How it came about was a) watching a band in a pub me and a couple of mate were dancing away having good fun. (always a bonus if you have a couple of girls in your group) b) I wasn't always dancing with my friends I was dancing on my own just having a laugh. c) Noticed a girl eyeing me (coyly) as I was eyeing her. d) Continued having fun, dancing etc occasionally VERY occasionally e) At end of band when it was quiet. I walked over Said Hi, My name is Dez (smiled) she gave me hers. Do you want to go for a drink Wednesday night (it was sat) She was a bit surprised but said ok. I handed her my phone stick your number in there. When she was done I said I will text you Tuesday. I did she responded we are meeting tonight.

This turned into a mini FR without me realising it :-/

Great advice, especially the volunteering/community service approach. Some of the lines are cringe-worthy, but the delivery is key - confidence without arrogance.

Also, compliments are great openers as long as you don't come off too creepy. Make sure you are dressed/groomed well, smile and don't stare at her too intently. Don't act too eager, play it cool but BE NICE.
