A strategy is better than a script. I suggest you read 'The first 3 to 5 minutes" which discusses what to do after the opener.

Remember, after the opener, after you hook into a set, the goal is not just to prolong the set with conversation, to avoid getting blown out. The goal is to create attraction and seduce the woman. Your conversation and interaction should drive the seduction forward.

Learn to adapt. Scripts and canned lines will not help you grow or improve your skills. You need to learn to work extemporaneously, or you will simply not succeed in the long run. That's just all there is to it. Don't be afraid to fall on your face and fail; that's part of learning. Surround yourself with funny people and learn from them, and do critical thinking exercises to help you think on your feet. But don't for one minute think that having a flow chart or a script is going to help you. You need to banish that thought from your mind.

Really, for me, the thing that really helped was realizing that whatever it was that came to my mind, I should just say it. Often times it's not a matter of having nothing to say, it's that we second guess ourselves and think that what we are about to say is stupid or will not be received well. Fuck that shit, just say the first thing that comes to mind - it doesn't matter what - it's especially good if YOU think it's funny! Laugh at your own jokes, etc. Anyway, give that a shot and see if it works for you:)

Think about what she is probably feeling at that moment (work sucks, work is slow, she's bored) and then bring that up: "You must be really bored this time of night being here by yourself."

The best conversations are those that touch the girl's feelings.

You got scared, thought you looked like an idiot, and ran the fuck out of there.

This has literally nothing to do with conversation. It's about the self perception you have about what it is you're doing, which in this case was "I'm interrupting someone and taking up her time when she doesn't want to talk to me".

I recommend useless trivia, it usually works as a transitioner. Just be curious about the person you are talking to. I saw this somewhere on /r/seduction earlier, great advice.. Before you go out don't be on your computer or packed away somewhere on your computer or in a video game or whatever. get your mind rolling with conversations with other people..

I've been trying out a new method that seems to be working lately.

Make eye contact with a girl a few times in the night and then go up to her and say, " I noticed you staring at me before, and I was just wondering if we're going to flirt from far or if we can have a conversation"

In any case, you should at that point isolate, "here let's go for a drink' and from then on, make it your own.

There's a skit I saw on "A Bit of Fry and Laurie" I want to try out.. I can't find it on Youtube anywhere or else I'd post the link... But it's Season 2 Episode 2 about 15 minutes into it, there's an interrogation skit where the guy being interrogated (played by Steven Fry) he goes at Hugh Laurie hard... You've gotta see it, I want to do it just to see what happens
