Posted to dating advice recently r/amiugly. Both said that I was doing all of the right things and I just had to "keep trying". I've improved myself a lot. I lost over 120 lbs and got into great shape, I became more comfortable speaking to women, I made a great career change, and I started dressing better. However, it still isn't enough. Friends have told me that they can't even figure it out (neither can I). A therapist told me I was doing everything right and that I just had to "keep trying". I'm honestly tired of trying as it's becoming exhausting and lowering my self-esteem. I work so hard and do a good job of being myself but no one cares. I think the rest of my life is just going to be constantly working hard and never being happy.

I've never had a fulfilling relationship. I keep hearing so many times to "just work on yourself" and "don't look for it and it will find you". How much more do I need to work on myself? I've done everything I've wanted to do. The only thing left is to buy a house. I have to go out and put in the effort to look for it. The woman of my dreams isn't going to break into my apartment.

I feel like I'm going crazy. I'm about to spend another holiday season alone and unloved and I honestly have no idea what I could be doing wrong. Everyone keeps telling me I'm good looking and doing everything right but if that were true why am I alone?

My self-esteem is lowering dramatically and I'm becoming very frustrated.

edit: I'm able to talk and interact with women just fine and have even been told to just keep doing the things I'm doing. To everyone here asking if I try this or do that, the answer is yes. I step out of my comfort zone a lot but for whatever reason nothing works.

edit2: Please read my entire post before commenting.

edit3: I didn't realize everyone here is a fucking expert. If you are so good at this why don't you tell me exactly what to do in order to get the results I want?
