Hey guys;

Amidst the worst time in my life; I thought we could bring some positivity out of the mess many of us find ourselves in or were in.

What are some positive things you have learned about yourself during or post divorce ? Or what were some things you discovered that will inevitable lead to the betterment of yourself ?

I’ll start:

1) Through therapy I discovered I am ADHD; I’ve just done a really good job at masking it my whole adult life (I’m 33)

I find this discovery to be pretty positive. I’m learning coping strategies for my difficulties with emotional regulation and my mild ODD-like symptoms. I’d rather not medicate.

And suddenly; I understand why if I am interested in something; I can really learn it much quicker than your average Joe. I’m gonna try to harness that super power of mine and become more successful than I have ever been.

2) I’ve been hyper independent my entire life and I am learning to accept help. And I’m making friends with other men - and honestly, it’s exciting. I haven’t had friends in a very long time. It’s crazy how easy it is to find like-minded men with similar life experience!

3) Most women find me to be cute; despite the heinous insults my stbxw would constantly barrage me with. I’m also a chubby chaser; I’m always 10%-12% body fat or leaner and I live in a chubby world. I’m gonna capitalize on that lol

4) My children adore me in a way that their mother could never. They love the authentic me for all that I am and all that I am not. That’s all the validation I will ever truly need.

5) Getting back to lifting weights is the only thing that made me feel powerful again. In a time where I have felt like I was walking through life naked & afraid - weights have been tremendously empowering.

Anyways; that’s all from my side. How about you guys? The more that share; the merrier!
