These "video game girls" like Amanda Marcotte just don't fucking get it. "Geeks" who spend all of their time playing video games and reading comic books are doing those things because they are generally rejected by women. For whatever the reason, they have resigned themselves to the fact that they are not desired by women, and henceforth, choose to fill the void left with fantasy. And some of that fantasy involves comically enhanced digitized women with huge tits and asses, and wearing revealing costumes. The vast majority of video game and comic book consumers are still males, and the makers of these products are going to cater to their market.

Now along come the same entitled cunts who reject these guys, and now they want to be treated like "one of the boys" while they try to play in the same sandbox. They are appalled at the "objectification of women" in video games, and start demanding that this be changed. They come along with the whole "I'm a girl, I play video games, look how unique I am" drivel, and the males are genuinely confounded at what the hell she's doing there. So these men proceed to verbally assault the women, ridicule them, etc, etc, and these women start crying about "video game misogyny". They fail to understand that their sexual value has no meaning with these online gamers, and they fail to understand that "there are no girls on the internet."

tl;dr - geek males ridicule and reject women in online gaming the same way women ridicule and reject geek males in the SMP, women start whining and crying "misogyny."

These are stories about men and women whose traits are considered superhuman. They are paragons of their species (both human and not). The point is that these characters are supposed to be better than human. Yes, the women are unnaturally attractive. Guess fucking what? The men are unnaturally attractive too. Every man, even men who don't focus on their physical prowess (Loki, Wiccan, etc) are jacked or at least toned. Wolverine is a short, hairy mutant riddled with scars and he's still attractive. Holy fuck man, even Charles Xavier-- a fucking crippled man with mind-based powers-- is jacked.

When you come to a genre about aliens, gods, and superhumans beating the shit out of each other with laser vision, magical objects, and throwing cars at each other, why the fuck are you demanding everything to be realistic?
