Models is about self improvement, self acceptance (non needyness and non validation seeking) and vulnerability. It also explains the different kind of reasons that could make a relationship fail, making you possibly avoid those reasons in the first place.
It's all about getting deep with a girl and not about fucking tons of girls. That's what you need to know before buying it.

I was reading 3% Man by Corey Wayne will texting a girl, and Models while dating her. My behavior was affected to the point where the girl notice incongruity. I think she liked the "3% Man" version of me better. :D
My point is that my mistake was taking too much of these books/tips at face value, which in my defense, is normal at the beginning. There's no easy answer, but I guess it involves taking ideas and applying them to your goals, personality type, where you are in your game at the moment, what kind of girl you are interested in, etc, etc.
TL;DR: this shit ain't easy.

The whole point of the Models book is that it shouldn't matter the girl doesn't like you, especially if you fully committed to Models.
That means she didn't like the real you and oh we'll find someone who does. Even if looking for sex models is good because you'll weed out girls not interested in what you want.

I get it. I don't really care if they like the real me. I just want to have 5 or so FWBs. So in my case, 3% man is better in terms of practical advice. I'm not saying Models is wrong, just saying what style/advice you select might depend a lot on your goals.

Mark Manson is opposed to the idea of PUA and focusing on "seducing" girls. He talks about not liking the flashy/showman stuff that old PUA teaches (including The Game). Understanding that he's trying to teach pickup while being against it makes swallowing his teachings easier.

Let's say some hypothetical person is sick. His or her goal is to get well. Actually, there are two alternatives:
In Models Mark Manson aims at handling the initial reason for one's social issues (not only with girls). It might take longer and require harder mental work to dispose of your old ways of thinking and acting, but in the end, it will make you a better person.
On the other hand, one can just learn some common shortcuts described in pure PUA books, which teach you how you can imitate the behaviour of a successful and assertive person. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that you will eventually turn into such a person. Although they often say "fake it till you make it", that doesn't always work.
I'm currently reading Models for the second time, and I can't get rid of the feeling that Mark Manson is addressing me and my neediness.
Another book I'm currently reading is No More Mr Nice Guy, which is also a fantastic source of knowledge and enlightenment if, like me, you have been deluded into thinking that the only way to be socially successful you need to be "nice".
Later on, I'm planning to read The Book of Pook out of pure interest considering how often it is recommended by the society.
Whatever I wrote above, it could be plain wrong as this is just the way I currently see it.
Whatever book you decide to stick with, good luck on your way of self-improvement. I hope we both will make it:)

Follow whichever theories or techniques make the most sense to you until you see for yourself whether or not they actually work, in practice and then make adjustments as necessary.

I just finished NO More Mr. Nice Guy and now I am RE-reading Models. Good combination, it's definitely a book about owning yourself instead of pick up

Did the same thing recently, weird.

I read Models, and although I found it to be a really good book, I think you need a specific mindset to make it work. The book that has helped me the most (with results, not just concepts) is by far 3% man from Corey Wayne, additionally, he has a youtube channel where he explains in great detail what to do in certain situations. If I were to recommend just one book, it would definitely be that one.

Glad to know you picked it up, it really is an amazing book to understand what woman are all about and why sometimes we creep them without even knowing why. I recommend you check his youtube channel as well, really spot on advice.

You should know "The Game" is an autobiography of Neil's life in the PUA community, it does explain briefly what he does and why he does it, but most of the book is a story book rather than an advice/self improvement book, so if you plan on reading it go in expecting a story on the PUA communities in the early naughties.

With that said. It is a really good read

What I appreciate about Models is that it does a good job in terms of giving you a healthy mindset (commonly referred to as inner game in PUA). Get to know people (in this case chicks) because you want to, because you’re curious in meeting new people. If the goal/intent is strictly lays then it’s going to show (unless you’re a good actor, and in that case you’re manipulative and you’ll be left with unfulfilling relationships with others as Manson described in Models. Neil Strauss also felt the same way after getting too good at becoming manipulative).
If you want a good outer game book, I recommend Tao of Badass. It does a great job simplifying the process of relationship building, making you more socially aware of your standing with other people. It also taught me traits that are attractive in general (proper banter, push-pulling).
To sum it up - Models is great for teaching how to live a quality lifestyle, and have a personality/attitude that leads to quality relationships. Tao is great for reeling those people in to your life, by expressing yourself & properly making emotional transfers.

“Hi, I’m [Your Name Here].” Simple concepts learned, now get out there. You’ll learn way more from the first few rejections than any book.

Mark Manson is essentially a fraud that rose to popularity by sleeping with Erika Awakening by lying to her about his intentions. That is how he created his initial audience. He then began peddling absolutely mediocre dating advice that appealed to the general mainstream. There's more explained here:

Personally, I don't subscribe to any particular "method" that these famous PUA's push. When I stopped giving a fuck, my dating game just exploded. I was never nervous when talking to attractive women, rather, the only thing setting me back was my fear of rejection. My mind would always be racing and I would say to myself, "alright Alex, if this girl shoots you down, what then? It was more a fear of embarrassment than anything else. Eventually this subsided and I just stopped worrying about such trite shit. I maintain good hygiene and stay in shape, but I stopped caring about getting laid, meeting women or rejection. It was liberating really. I just go with the flow and more often than not, women seem drawn to that. Granted, I come across as very confident.

It's incredibly overrated. The reason his books are pushed so heavily on Reddit is some sort of marketing scheme. I doubt he had even banged enough women at the time he wrote it to be an expert
I really like rsd, but the key thing is to go out and figure out how the world works on your own
